“Nice Hotel”

Fairfield Inn Memphis

4 of 5 stars
Saint Charles, Missouri
May 26, 2008

This hotel is definitely a nice place to stay for a weekend trip in Memphis. The rooms are nice and the location is convenient to anything you would want to do in the Memphis area.

The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable and the staff was extremely friendly. The breakfast was a typical Fairfield breakfast, but the area which it is served is very small. I recommend bringing your food back to your room. The pool area was clean and nice, however, the pool isn't heated so it was chilly. Everyone on staff that I dealt with was very nice and helpful.

The location is very good. It's right off of the interstate, which is good for access to the Memphis area attractions. It's around 20 to 30 minutes to the downtown core and it's only about an hour from the Tunica, Mississippi casino area. Also, we felt very safe in the hotel's neighborhood.

If in the Memphis area again, we would definitely stay here again. We found the value for the amount paid to be sufficient, and the staff really made it enjoyable.

“A Wonderful place to stay”

My family and I stayed our first night at the REd roof inn (I do not recommend staying there) the next day we called around looking for better accomidations and we found them in this hotel.

My cousin brought 4 kids and I brought my son and three two year olds and two one year olds are anything but quiet the staff there was wonderful and helpful.

The pool was lots of fun.
The rooms where clean, the showers where twice as large as the red roof inns, AND THE ROOMS WHERE CLEAN!!!!

We didnt watch the tv at this hotel cause we spent most of our time in the pool :)

The breakfast was so good. they had bagels fruit waffles cereal oatmeal.

The bed where so sooooooooooo soft and comfortable.

the excercise room was small but it was peaceful. My cousin and her freind becky went down and worked out for a couple of minutes then they hopped into the hot tub and then the pool while my uncle watched their kids.

I strognly recommend this hotel if you are ever in memphis.

“Hidden gem”

Fairfield Inn Memphis

5 of 5 stars
Starkville, Mississippi
Nov 11, 2007

We were looking for a simplistic, affordable hotel in Memphis for a weekend retreat from our hometown and this one fit the bill. After reading the reviews, I was impressed that this location would be a solid choice.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by a very helpful person at the front desk. After asking what type of room (king), floor (third) and location (back side, away from the interstate - yes, you do want to stay on the back side) we wanted, he proceeded to try and honor those requests. After finding that the only kings he had third floor/back were king suites, he immediately proceeded to upgrade us to a suite at no additional charge over that of the regular king rate...a great start to our weekend.

But that wasn't the end. We found everything to be in great shape, very clean. The wireless internet service worked perfectly. And every member of the staff seemed very friendly - heard "have a nice day" each morning as we exited the free continental breakfast and the hotel.

It has very convenient to access both downtown Memphis (via I-40 West) and the major shopping areas on the northeast side as well.

Bottom line - we were very happy with our stay here.

“Friendly staff, clean, convenient hotel”

Fairfield Inn Memphis

4 of 5 stars
Louisville, Kentucky
Oct 7, 2007

We stayed here on a weekend trip with family. We needed three adjoining rooms (children in party) which they would not guarantee when we booked the rooms, but I found out that this is standard (if irritating) with virtually all chains. At check-in they were very accommodating and we got the rooms we needed. My family (two adults, two kids) had a suite which was great--plenty of room, clean and reasonable privacy. My in-laws had one double-double room and one king room and I thought they seemed a little cramped. For $10-20 more go for the suite! Amenities: Good a/c, it was a little iffy on maintaining a constant temperature, but was not noisy. Towels were too small, and rough and not very absorbent. Indoor pool was small but great for kids--pool area was very clean and always well-equipped with towels. Breakfast was fine: the usual waffles, yogurt, bagels, etc. They actually had protein which was a plus and very good coffee. Location is very convenient to 40 and Sam Cooper. About 10-12 minutes to Beale St. area on Sam Cooper. The area was a little rundown in parts, but I did not feel unsafe. I like being downtown but you get more for your money here.

“Cozy location, though a little noisy”

Fairfield Inn Memphis

4 of 5 stars
Federal Way, WA
Sep 7, 2007

September 3, 2007 stay: This Fairfield Inn was the least expensive when I checked in with the prepaid option. Though its location is a little off, I thought it was cozy and effective. It is located at the end of the stretch with several other hotels/motels on the low to mid range, and getting on/off the expressway was easy. The property looked and felt spotlessly clean. Bedding and amenities were good. Although I did not use the pool, it looked well maintained. The front desk was outstanding, and performed at its best all the time I was there. Wireless internet was available, but was a little slow. Nothing much to eat in the immediate surrounding except for fast food (Tops BBQ stood out!) Driving to the other side of the expressway however opened up significant eating opportunities. Only suggestion, try to get a room facing opposite the expressway. Though well sound insulated, you can still hear the traffic.
