This hotel offered a comfortable weekend stay. I was a little weary after reading some of the reviews, and literally braced myself for a bad experience. Which accounted for a pleasant surprise.

As I walked down the hall after check-in, I noticed many dirty dishes left from room service and never picked up. The hallways were long and not friendly feeling. But the room was average enough. Some wear and tear all over the room, but nothing deal breaking. Definitely not the nicest and newest furnishing. The bed was hard as a rock. Sends you back to the days without pillow top mattresses.

The lounge had short hours, not opening til 5 on Friday and Saturday, and closing at 10! The bartender was not very personable, and it was obvious he didn't want to be there when he called last call at 9:40.

Overall, if would stay here again if the price was lower, say $50 a night. Definitely not worth the high class prices.

A huge Bally's Fitness was within walking distance and served as the fitness center for the hotel. However, I never made it there.

This hotel is very conveniently located and does offer the amenities as advertised. The problem, however, had to do with the roaches crawling in the room. Every morning we would find a couple of dead roaches somewhere in the room and would see a couple of live ones crawling on the walls. We did not report this until the last day of our stay because we did not want the smell of insecticide in the room. The clerk was apologetic and said she would have moved us had we told her earlier. Not sure it would have helped, as it is unlikely that the roaches only hung out in one room.

Hotel states it was renovated in 2004. Really, where? On the outside? The front desk clerk who checked us in was not friendly, nor did she inform us of the Bally's Fitness Center located just next door for free use by guests. We found this out by reading the info book in the room. I will say we were not assigned a room by any of the larger groups here this weekend...there was the Hot Rod show and a kids baseball tourney as well.

The room was a bit musty smelling and the carpet seemed "sticky" or just damp at all times. Definitely not enough hangers in the room, but no big deal. Housekeeping did a nice job of straightening the room out daily.

Did not eat the food here...was a bit scared to order room service.

Much construction going on in this area...front desk clerk not helpful (without seeming bothered) with assisting us with directions. I wonder if this had to do with the very low rate we received from Hotwire.com?

Stay here again? Hmmmm...probably not. Location was great for our specific needs, but saw some very nice properties and much newer at two extis east off of Lovell Road.

This hotel had an extremely accommodating staff. In spite of the proximity to I-40, our room was very quiet. We were asked if a first-floor room was acceptable (usually we're just assigned a floor) and had a room with an interior entrance close to the lobby but far enough away not to be able to hear lobby noise. I'd happily stay here again.
