My husband and I arrived late in the evening for our check-in only to find that our suite, which had been confirmed along with confirmation of a late arrival, had been given away. When we asked what accomodations would be provided to us and our 3 teen-agers, we were told by the manager on duty that they had a single smoking room with a king size bed to offer us. We advised them that we had just driven 6 hours, it was very late, I am highly allergic to smoke, and there were 5 of us to sleep in 1 king size bed. The attitude was UNBELIEVABLE. We asked for them to put us up in another hotel for the night until our suite was available, and they refused. We even got the operations manager on the phone, who refused to pay for a room for us elsewhere. By the time we left, we had gone through 3 levels of managers to no avail. We have stayed with Hilton for 20 years, several years at Gold status, currently at Silver, and have never experienced this kind of treatment at a Hilton or any other Hotel, for that matter. And when, in the end, we filed a claim with the HIlton chain, the manager LIED to customer service and said that he had resolved the matter with us. I have never seen such a total disregard for customer service. We will NEVER STAY AT THIS HOTEL again. TRAVELERS BEWARE!!!! This made our vacation extremely stressful. We highly recommend that you stay elsewhere!!!!!!!!!!!

Very impressed with property from moment I walked in the door. I was promptley welcomed by hotel staff and check in was quick and efficient. Room was very nice and clean. Great breakfast buffet in morning. Beautiful pool area overlooking marsh. Will definatley come back to this property.

My business associates and I have stayed here several times on business and on every occasion the management staff has been very rude. The only reason we stay there again and again is the fact we our Hilton diamond members and they are the most reasonable on the island. The rooms are just so so and the charge for the contentintal breakfast. This last incident though sealed the deal on us NEVER to return when they charged us $50 for an early departure fee. The owner manager was very rude to me and my traveling partners about this refusing to waive the fee. The HGI caters to business travelers and this type of service is uncalled for and in our many years of travel with Hilton we have never incurred this type of fee. We will not be back to this hotel. Business travelers beware!
