Our recent three night stay at the Main Street Inn was very memorable. From the round entry courtyard surrounding a fountain, to the flickering gaslights on the walls, to the lush, semi-tropical gardens dotted with fountains, to the lovely rooms, everything spoke of a country villa in Tuscany!
Our room was wonderful. The bed and chairs were quite comfortable. The bathroom was huge, with marble floors and lovely continental-style fixtures. A french door opened up to a private balcony overlooking the front courtyard. I believe only a few of the rooms offer this private balcony, but all rooms front on a common balcony which overlooks the lovely gardens.
Each evening complimentary wine was offered, in very generous proportions. The hot breakfast buffet was well prepared, though not elaborate, and certainly was more than one would expect when included in the price of the room. It was a lovely way to start each day, breakfasting at a wrought iron table in the garden.
If you are looking for a place to stay on Hilton Head Island that is a bit different from your typical oceanfront resort, this is it.

We really enjoyed our stay. Lovely private garden to enjoy complimentary wine in the evening and a very nice breakfast in the morning. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Close to several golf courses. Friendly staff. Our room had a private patio.

From the moment we called this Inn we couldn't believe what we were hearing! The rate we were offered was very affordable and when we arrived to find a charming little inn with meandering courtyards and gardens we knew we had found a gem! Located on charming Main Street near a market, cute gift shops and great restaurants- a 5-10 minute drive from the beach. This Inn offers a quiet retreat from the Hilton Head tourists. The innkeeper was so welcoming and courteous and the room was extremely clean, comfortable and updated. The Inn also offered a full hot breakfast with nice teas, coffees, pastries etc. every morning at no additional charge. This was a pleasant surprise to us and we really enjoyed eating our breakfast in the courtyard. As long as the property continues to offer such a wonderful place to sleep and dine we will travel there! We couldn't have asked for anything more!

We planned a golf vacation at Hilton Head and elected to stay at the Main Street Inn. We liked everything about it. You need to know that it's away from Hilton Head's major resort areas -- which was ideal for us. The staff was friendly. The rooms were nice, and we really enjoyed interacting with other guests at breakfast and during "happy hour." We'll stay there again on our next visit.
