My sister and I stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites over the Easter Holidays. The hotel is very clean, friendly staff, great continental breakfast, newspaper delivered on weekdays, nice pool and hottub. The non-smoking suites are very spacious and nicely decorated. Smoking rooms are nice too, but smaller than the suites. We really enjoyed our stay and found everything was perfect for us. We walked into downtown Newport every day, only 20 minutes or less. Great location, price was good too, less than $100 per night.

Stayed at the Middletown RI Hampton Inn in February, 2005. First time using that chain, but definately not the last. Room was large, well decorated, and had microwave plus mini refrigerator. Breakfast was a hot/cold buffet which exceeded our expectations. Tremendous value!
Staff couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful. Very pleased with everything. Recommended hotel to friends who shared out enthusiasm.

Newport in general is a horribly expensive town. From May thru Columbus Day there's just nothing inexpensive to be had anywhere. I stayed here on Sept 10th. I was there for a business function that wouuld involve a bit of imbibing, so I wanted to stay where the meetings were. I paid $170.10, and was told I was lucky to be paying that little. That being said - this is a newly constructed hotel, and it is great condition. The rooms are well decorated and a bit larger than most Hampton Inns. It really was about the best chain hotel room I'd stayed in in a long time. And I do about 130 nights a year, with my traveling. Hopefully they keep it up well.

All the same though, except for the fact that it was sold out, there's a Hampton Inn in Fall River 16 miles away that would have been only $129 if it hadnt been sold out, and I would have stayed there.
