AUGUST 23, 2006
My wife and I traveled to Puerto Vallarta in April, 2006 and decided to get out of the city for a few days. We had been to Yelapa before and found that we were missing the total relaxation of this sleepy pueblo.
We contacted Casa Frida (--) and made arrangementds for a 5 night stay. Our hostess Nancy was amazing in helping us with travel and greeting us on the beach when we arrived. It was as we remembered it a few years back, a beautiful golden sand beach with emerald green/blue water and many restaurants that are built right on the beach.
Nancy guided us to our rental which was just a block off the beach. Casa Frida has two vacation rentals. One is a 1 bedroom Casita with livingroom, kitchen and bathroom. The other is the one we chose to stay in - The Palapa. Walking to the Palapa is so beautiful with lush foliage and tropical trees such as Banana, Papaya, Orange, Coconut and Mango.
The Palapa at Casa Frida is truly an amazing place! It has a wonderful view of the area and the beach. It is situated on a very private property with all kinds of flowers and trees surrounding it.
Although there was only two of us and the Palapa sleeps six with a queen bed in the loft, a queen bed downstairs and another bed in the lower building. The Palapa consists of three separate buildings all clustered together in this beautiful garden like setting.
My wife particularly liked the shower in the separate bathroom.
It is open to the sky and you have a view of buterflies, birds and all the nature around you as you enjow a hot or if you prefer a cold shower. At night at the end of the day I enjoyed my shower under the stars.
We were truly impressed with the attentiveness that was given to us. Nancy made sure we were always comfortable. She arranged for a massage for both my wife and I. Dana, our Massage therapist brought all items necessary for the most relaxing experience I have ever had. Soft music with the birds in the background and performed right at the Palapa - we didn't have to go anywhere.
Nancy also made arrangements for a private boat excursion to the Islands for some snorkeling and bird watching. Gerrardo our guide had snacks and beverages for us there and he even supplied the snorkel equipment. For $125.00 usd per day for both of us it was a beautiful trip to see some mostly untouched beaches and gorgeouse water.
Back at our Palapa we sat on the patio watching the stars while sipping a home made Banana daquiry and lisening to the crickets sing.
Casa Frida in Yelapa Mexico is the best vacation we have ever taken!!
