“Save room for dessert at breakfast ... !”

Andon-Reid Inn

May 7, 2008

I booked Andon-Reid based almost entirely on TripAdvisor reviews, so there was a little trepidation about what to expect. My wife and I live in the UK and have stayed at many hotels and B&Bs across the US and Europe: we have little tolerance for B&Bs advertising services and accomodation that don't deliver.

Andon-Reid delivers.

A warm and welcoming host, relaxing accomodation, super breakfast, etc. Ron was running the show because Rachel was away for a few days. We really couldn't have asked for anything more in terms of assistance and a very positive attitude.

This is a winner, and gave us ready access to an entrance to the southern end of the Blue Ridge Parkway about 5 miles away. It was also nice to walk around historic Waynesville or just relax in the large lounge in the B&B. They also have an ample workout area, plenty of DVDs, billiard table, local books and other reading material, etc.

Even if you're just passing by, give this one a stay and you'll be well rewarded.

Also suggest the "Sweet Onion" restaurant though you might need to make a reservation on Fri/Sat evenings. Bogarts was also a down-home place w/ nice service and lots of locals.

“Very comfortable and welcoming”

Andon-Reid Inn

My daughter and I enjoyed our recent weekend stay with Ron and Rachel. We had the Mountain View room and loved having our own private deck with lounge chairs to enjoy. Great food, friendly hosts, and wonderful dining recommendations that are less than a mile away.

“Loved my cozy room and the great breakfasts”

Ron and Rachel Reid are the consummate hosts and owners of the Andon Reid Inn. This is my second stay and was fortunate to secure The Rustic Cabin room with lots a room and a fireplace......it feels just like a cabin in the mountains but with all the luxuries ( chocolates on your pillow, mini-fridge, fresh ground coffee and coffee make, plush terry cloth robes, hand lotions, fresh baked cookies in the afteroons, and more). Each room is cuter than the next and the suites are large and welcoming. There are no TVs in the room, but that only adds to the charm of a B & B, all the guests would congregate after dinner and share a bottle of wine or port that they brought along.
One night Ron built a fire in the firepit outdoors for us and we enjoyed the beautiful evening and watched the stars. I was fortunate to be staying at the time they were having one of their gourmet dinner evenings and thoroughly enjoyed a meal unmatched by most 5 star restaurants. My husband and I had our own bistro table by the window and were treated like royalty.
We never had lunch after Rachel's breakfasts.....it is impossible to describe the variety of delicious dishes she offers and then tops everything off with a decadent dessert. Can you imagine a hot fudge sundae on top of a brownie for BREAKFAST...no one complained.

I cannot wait to return to the pampering and warmth that is offered here. We will be back again and again.

“Great Little Getaway”

Andon-Reid Inn

North Carolina

This is a wonderful place to stay! This is our second time and we plan on going back at least once a year. The location is wonderful with Maggie Valley, the Blue Ridge Parkway and the quaint town of Waynesville within walking distance. The food is exceptional and the hospitality shown to us by the Inn Keepers was wonderful! They worked hard to make each trip unique and special from packed picnics, arranging golfing outings, massages, or preparing a romantic snack! With this property you have the option to work out in the gym in the basement with equipment and free weights. We love coming here and look forward to our next visit!

“The Grand Library is a "study" of grand elegance”

Ron and Rachel Reid are the innkeepers of this beautiful B&B as well as hosts. They both are such wonderful people you feel that their home is yours. The Grand Library Suite is exquisite, it has a king size bed, top of the line bedding done in creams and gold, a gas log fireplace, the bathroom is done in dark, warm woods, a long soak in the Jacuzzi tub is the way to end your day. It to has a fireplace. Downstairs is a rec room with fireplaces, a pool table, a tabletop shuffle board, as well as professional excercise equipment.

Her breakfast's are to die for, you will never leave Rachel's table hungry. This is our second visit with many more to come.
