Just had 10 days in LLoret de mar! stayed in the santa ana 2 apartments. They are big apartments, with good sized living space and large balconies. They staff are friendly- although not the best at understanding english, think they are spanish/ french- so if you can speak these languages you are laughing.

The apartment was very clean and in a great central location, with pubs and bars and cafes on the street, a shop downstairs, and within easy walking distance of two great beaches.

Its a 2 minute walk into LLoret centre, so the clubs are easy to get to and from.

Had a great time.

Arrived at 00.20 on Sun. morning to be confronted with a demand for 100 Euros desposit , this we did not know about, there had been no mention of it anywhere on booking so this was a bit of a shock. The security gaurd obviously only knew how to ask for this and did not understand anything else, they do not accept the deposit via Visa so we were stuck but eventually he said 'tomorrow' when I shrugged my shoulders. So this was a good start because we had carefully budgeted and brought only the Euros needed to see us throught the week of self-catering and now we had to give a very large portion of it to the apartment manager!! (Was quite stressful really and had to resort to using Visa to pay for things which costs you more money!) The apartment itself is huge and has looks as if it has recently gone through an update with a modern kitchen area but the settee is actually a sofa-bed and very uncomfortable. When we arrived very early sun. morning it was to find that we had to make our own beds! and that there is no toilet roll provided! The towels are very thin and quite threadbare so you will need to take your own if you are fussy! The cups are minute so if you like a mug - or even a 'normal' sized tea-cup you will have to take your own! No kettle and no teapot if you like that sort of thing. No microwave but a good cooker with grill and a four ring ceramic hob plus one milk pan (with dodgy handle!) and large two handled pans. Be careful to check how many of everything you have - this does not correspond to how many it says you should have on the back of the door - I pointed this out to the owner/manager? the next day but they still tried to charge us at departure for the things missing - so make a list and get them to check and sign or give you the correct number. The tV worked but only for one,spanish, channel and trying any buttons only switched it off! The large hotel 25 yards from the back side of the apartment block, where we had been put, is undergoing major refurbisment and work started at 8.20 until 18.30 to 19.00 hours so that is your only view and is very noisy. Well situated only yards away from the centre of LLoret but other apartment users - lots of all girl, all boy, mixed groups noisy all night. The Spanish seem to be targeting Hen and Stag parties and German ones at that so if big groups of party people are not your thing do not go! Blanes if the place to go for relaxing atmosphere and lovely beaches!

Went for a week in early June 2007 for my first holiday away with my girlfriend. Went with an open mind not knowing what to expect (as there were no pictures of the apartment), on arrival was amazed at the size of the apartment as there was only 2 of us. It was vey clean with a huge kitchen/living area with working spanish cable TV and small balcony, with outside table and chairs. Excellent AirCon throughtout the apartment (programmable). Staff were helpful and pleasant even though their english wasn't that strong. There was a large supermarket across the road, which was great as we were self catering. It was situated in a fairly quiet area approx 10 mins walk from the shingle beach and approx 5 mins from the main road which offers a selection of bars and clubs...though most are catered for the dance scene so good if your into that sort of thing. There were many resturants of all price ranges and tastes. Also Went on a trip to barcelona for the day, via the public transport system, which was far cheaper than the day trips on offer! The only bad point was the 100 euro deposit on arrival which took a large chunk out of our spending money as it was not expected but it was returned in full to us on checking out. The other anoyance we had was the nightclub reps -you couldnt walk two steps on the main street without them pestering you to go into their pubs/clubs - but is expected in any busy tourist/clubbing area. Overall it was an enjoyable holiday which had the bonus of being fairly cheap.

Arrived really late to a woman that spoke hardly any English but she was friendly enough. Had to pay a deposit of 100 euros which we weren't told about.
The room was very nice. Very clean and quite big, especially considering there were just the two of us.
Only bad thing about the apartment really is the toilet. It stank really bad and nothing was done about it.
There's no kettle or toaster, the cups are tiny and the only English channel on the tv was the music channel but no big problems.
The sheets on one of the beds were dirty but the man on reception changed them no problem, although he made a rude joke about sex which I thought was a bit inappropriate.
There was a different woman on reception during the day who was the nicest staff member of the lot. Always said hello and asked if we were having a nice time.
When we asked where the beach was we were pointed in the complete opposite direction and had to ask other tourists for help. The beach is about 15-20 minutes away. There is no swimming pool but you are allowed to use the one in the hotel next door.
The shops are a two minute walk from the apartment.
The group of people in the room next door were quite noisy but when you're on holiday it's too be expected really. The nice woman on reception appologised for the noise and eventually evicted the group.
