“Wonderful Labor Day Weekend Beach Stay”

Hampton Inn And Suites Outerbanks Carolla

4 of 5 stars

I recently stayed at the Hampton Inn Corolla over the labor day weekend. My room was a 2 queen partial ocean view, which despite the description, had a great view of the ocean. The room was very clean with comfortable beds, a sofa and desk. It is a very well maintained Hampton Inn so keep in mind this is not a luxury beach hotel but rather a fantastic value hotel right on the ocean. There is free breakfast in the lobby in the morning that we hit up before going to the beach. The beach is a short boardwalk away and the hotel being the only one in the area and no houses nearby, the beach is pretty much exclusive for the hotel guests. This was wonderful having plenty of room in an uncrowded beach where we could really relax, if you like crowded beaches this is not your place but if you want to unwind with plenty of beach space to yourself this is it! There is also chair and umbrella rentals available. There are two pools, we never had a problem with the pools being too crowded either. All rooms have balconies as well.

There is no restaurant at the hotel, but there are plenty in either direction from the hotel including a grocery story so you can load your room refrigerator up with snacks.

The staff are very friendly and the whole atmosphere of the hotel is very laid back and unpretentious which makes all the guests very friendly as well.

For the price, location and comfort you cant beat this hotel, its was a fantastic stay.

“Nice alternative for a few days in the Outer Banks”

Hampton Inn And Suites Outerbanks Carolla

We've been visiting the Outer Banks for years and have done weekly rentals of houses up and down the coast. This year we wanted to split the week between the Outer Banks and Williamsburg. The Corolla Hampton Inn turned out to be a good spot to hang out for three days to get a short dose of the beach. The hotel is quite new and situated in a nature preserve, it seems, which means there are no beach houses for a 1/2 mile in either direction. It makes for an exceptionally uncrowded beach and a great place for walking. The hotel has three pools, including a small "lazy river" and an indoor one for cool or rainy days. Each of the pools are a little small and can get crowded if the hotel is full, but it sure makes for a nice alternative to a full day at the beach. The guest rooms were decent size mini-suites and were clean and comfortable. There's no restaurant, but the hotel does have an OK breakfast buffet and a diner next door is available for a quick burger or pizza. Better yet, a new Harris Teeter is just up the road, as are more choices of restaurants in Corolla. This is one of the better Hampton Inns you'll find, and while it's not top-notch luxury, it is one of the few nice choices to stay for a few days in the northern part of the Outer Banks.

“Loved The Hampton Inn”

We stayed here in the "off season", so the rates were great.
It was a great relaxing getaway from the winter blahs. The hot tub and indoor pool, were wonderful because it was too cold to swim outside.
The hotel was beautiful, the staff friendly and helpful. Our privacy was respected and the room kept clean. We enjoyed a great continental breakfast.
It was a quick drive to the beach and we enjoyed the sunrise and shell hunting. It was also close to the Sunset Grille where we enjoyed dinner and watching the sunset over the sound.
The hotel gave us complimentary tickets to the museum in Manteo and we had a good time seeing the animals without the crowds.
We have already decided we will do this trip again.

“Nice Family getaway”

I stayed here Aug 18-21st, with my wife and three kids. The room as your typical hotel room with two queen beds, pull out sofa, fridge and microwave. The hotel had complimentary breakfast every day which was an added bonus.

We had a first floor room on the side opposite the diner, overlooking the marsh. It was nice as we could drop off our beach gear without having to go through the hotel. There was an indoor pool, and the two outdoor pools-which were small but our kids (4/6/8) didnt seem too mind and they weren't crowded at the different times of the day we used them. There was also a small workout room that served it purpose.

The beach was close, just a walk over the boardwalk which was also very nice. The kids had a blast with the boogieboards as the ocean has decent size waves coming in.

We visited the Wright Brothers Memorial in Kill Devil Hills (40 mins away) and found it to be a nice break from the beach and was inexpensive ($4 for anyone over age 15). We also went to the Currituck Lighthouse which allows you to climb to the top (200 steps) and go outside on an observation deck for great views of the area ($7 for each person over age 7).

Food choices seem limited for families in the area surrouding the hotel, but numerous shops and resturants were north in Timbuck II plaza or farther south along route 12.

The staff is very helpful, friendlly and professional. The rooms were very clean (a biggie in our view) and the beach was quite nice...not crowded at all. I would highly recommend this hotel; especially to anyone not staying a full week. We only stayed 4 nights but enjoyed them all.
