We love, love, LOVE this place!! The adjectives abound: creative, comfortable, clean, colorful, charismatic. The Roxbury is what all others should aspire to. The design is inspired and the experience is unique and memorable. It is the kind of place you look forward to coming back to after your day's activities. The owners have an attention to detail that is astonishing. There does not seem to be a thing that has not been thought of nor an element overlooked. This evidence of extreme care is what is too often missing from other places, even those that purport luxury and charge accordingly. The touches are everywhere - from the cool ribbon around the TP to the little ziplock given so that the amazing leftover toiletries can be taken home. And all this for such a reasonable rate. The proprietors do not try to gouge their guests at every turn, e.g. the wine offerings in the room are wonderful selections for a very nice price, putting most run-of-the-mill minibars to shame. What else? Breakfast is great. The enormous DVD library! The equally awesome lounge around the corner. Equally great for families or for lovers. We will be back here again and again and again...

My new husband and I stayed 2 days at the Roxbury after our Leap Year Marriage. We couldn't have been more impressed. Easy to find with the directions on the website, and the drive was through beautiful country with light snow falling. We had Fred's Lair the first night and Genie's Bottle the second night. Both rooms were the absolute peak of cleanliness! Check-in was a breeze (Leslie is great) and we even got a wedding card and complimentary split of champagne! Be sure to check out the Public Lounge just a few steps away. Nice beer selection and inventive, above average "bar food". Continental breakfast was superior. Fresh baked goods, great coffee and tea. The Roxbury is a must for travelers who appreciate quality without pretense and who have a sense of humor. We are already planning a return trip this summer. Also: check out the Peekamoose for dinner (as reccommended by the Motel) you will not be disappointed.

The website only gives The Roxbury Motel a sliver of justice - and the site is seemingly too good to be true. The rooms are so well appointed. Perfect space, exquisite decor, themes done to the letter but elegantly. Towels are fluffy and fresh, I cannot say enough for the cleanliness, and the amenities address every need. They think of everything from arranging excellent excursions to local "must go" places to a simple note personally welcoming you to The Roxbury with an agenda card if you've planned anything through them. The Shimmer Spa is such a lovely place with top notch body treatments. The owners and staff are also friendly but professional - makes any main brand big city hotel so pedestrian. They are spectacular! Leslie, Hope, Danielle, Greg, & Joseph - you are the BEST! What a retreat!

We also indulged in The Peekamoose Restaurant tasting menu where we had food and service that far surpassed any Manhattan boite (check their site too - through The Roxbury's site in the "special offers" section). Getting there was a cinch - just a few minutes drive on easy bright roads. There are also cute places right in town but not to this gourmet level - yet. The Roxbury is close enough yet far enough in all directions to anything you'd want to do or see up there and is a viable destination all on it's own. And Roxbury, NY itself is a burgeoning town. Hurry up there before they are too booked up. I cannot say enough about the whole experience. No wonder the Today Show recently did a story on it. How cool. It was the best birthday I've had to be at The Roxbury Motel.

Very comfortable, well-maintained property, and a very good value.

Excellent place for families, with multi-room suites, kitchenettes, and comfortable quarters.

Any issues we had are those that are standard for the Catskill region -- not too many restaurants or entertainment nearby. Your going to be driving quite a bit.
