My husband and I spent a week in Lake Placid and we did something we almost never do--return to the same restaurant more than once in the same week. Milano North is a great reason to make that exception. The duck was superb (maybe the best I've ever eaten), and the pastas were delicious. While the food is a little pricey, there is a wonderful wine list with many really reasonably priced bottles (under $30). The service was very good and the atmosphere was warm and had a nice contemporary look in an Adirondack kind of way. The only semi-negative comment I might make was the small portion for one of the ravioli dishes we had. However, the dish was so rich and also contained seafood so that made up for the small number of ravioli (two oversized ravioli). If you want a really nice meal, in a lovely setting, you won't be disappointed with Milano North. We ate there twice and would have eaten there again on our final night but it was packed and we didn't have a reservation--so be sure to book ahead on busy weekends.
