Had a reservation held, but the service agent who took my reservation told me the wrong cancellation time. I tried to cancel the reservation in the time I was told, and was then told that it was too late. So they charged me for a day that I never stayed there.

I'm sure there was no confusion on my end. I clearly remember the conversation, AND I had it written down in my notes. The manager was a bit sarcastic when I complained.

Save yourself any hassle and book somewhere else.

I have had good luck in the past with the econolodge chain. Ithaca was the execption. It is located (although you cannot tell from the pictures online) in a strip mall parking lot. getting in and out was bad during busy times as there is only one way in and out of the "lot." Checking in was reasonably fast. Although the clerk was not overly friendly -it got worse. I checked into my room and wanted to shower and change before I left for dinner. When I opened the curtian there was hair in the tub. Not one hair - a CLUMP of hair. And mold along the edges. Gross. There was slime on the sink too, although I can't identify what it was. I called the front desk and was told that they were "too busy" to move my room and if I just "had" to move I would have to call back later. What happened to CUSTOMER SERVICE??? No apology, nothing. Basically insinuated that it was MY fault for seeing a problem. Since I was leaving for dinner I skipped the shower and waited until I went to another hotel to take one the next night. I will never go back. there are hotels in the city that are the same rate if not cheaper. I checked out a day early and never will go back. this place shouldn't have the econolodge name. Save yourself the headache and stay elsewhere.

We stayed here because all the "finer" hotels were booked. The rooms are clean and pleasant. Beds were comfortable. Bathrooms clean, but not fancy. None of that stuffy/musty smell that I have found at other inexpensive places.

The staff was very friendly and professional - much higher quality service than I have had at some pricey places!

Main drawback is that it is plunked down in a strip mall parking lot, so the outside isn't that inviting - not scary - just plain.

Would stay here again.

Decent hotel for the price. I agree the bed was hard. But the room was clean and the location was good. Mall is across the street if you need to kill some time. And the continental breakfast was good. When returning to Ithaca, I would stay again.
