Summary: Good value given its location near NYC and Laguardia. However, rooms are old and need to be upgraded badly.
Pros: Close to LGA airport with free shuttle service. Subway station just 2 blocks away. A subway ride into NYC is about 40 minutes. LIRR also has a station in Flushing. Taxi ride costs $30 to NYC. The hotel is right in downtown Flushing surrounded by a Chinese neighborhood so plenty of Chinese restaurants. Beds are comfortable. Good value, especially in the summer when NYC hotel rates are usually $400, while this location can be under $200.
Cons: Small lobby with strange decorations. Rooms are not too big, and the bathroom is no better than most motels. Some rooms look newer while others are very old. The hotel is poorly sound proofed between rooms, and the in-room air conditioner makes a lot of rumbling noise. No high-speed internet at all which is unacceptable this day and age. Overall, it just doesn't come close to even an average Sheraton.
Conclusion: Good for tourists who want to save money and don't mind not being in the middle of NYC. Decent for one night as an airport hotel as well. However, staying here for more than one night as a business person is not recommended. In the winter season when NYC hotel rates are lower, stay in the city.
