For our anniversary, we decided to visit Cooperstown, NY with two other couples. Our stay at the Inn at Hickory Grove was a perfect choice, a place to be together with good company and enjoy a cozy, relaxing weekend. The inn was charming, filled with interesting history and the owners were kind enough to allow us to freely use the game room and curl up with books and a glass of wine near a warming fireplace. The guys enjoyed the bar, playing darts and acting silly. The house has a wonderful wrap around porch with a stunning view of Ostego Lake. Cooperstown itself, reminded me of a place right out of a Norman Rockwell painting. We took in the Baseball Hall of Fame, the Farmer's Museum, and visited various shops and had lunch in a small cafe where I enjoyed the best Crab and Lobster Bisque I've ever tasted. I hope to return one day, to visit the many antique shops I didn't have time for. The hospitality and wonderful country breakfasts will take me back to the Inn at Hickory Grove. The owners, Matt, Marie and their sweet little daughter Lillie made our stay comfortable and memorable.

The feeling of home, warmth and heart is what you'll find at the Hickory Grove Inn Bed and Breakfast in Coopertown, N.Y. Currently under some renovation, this B&B with its rustic charm provides an atmosphere of a more calm and peaceful time. Inn Keepers, Matt and Marie go out of their way to make sure your stay is most enjoyable. Mornings start with a full home made country breakfast. Be sure to ask for his famous homestyle potatoes. Daughter, Lily, will keep you entertained and her smile will stay with you long after you leave.

My husband and I and my sister had the pleasure of spending 2 nights at the Inn. We stayed in rooms 1 & 2 which had a view of the lake. Wonderful breakfasts were served each morning and the personable innkeepers, Marie & Matt & their charming daughter Lily, made our stay very enjoyable. With ongoing renovations, this Inn is truly a diamond in the rough! We will be back.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights in October. Every bit of our stay was wonderful. Marie made us feel so welcome in her home and her daughter, Lily, was too adorable.

We stayed in Room #1 and had our own private bath inside the room. It was a very large room and bathroom which included two great bathrobes and a king-size bed. Each morning the breakfast was wonderful. All of this was a great find for $75/night.

Granted, the exterior needs some work and our room overlooked the motel across the street. However, grab yourself a bottle of wine on Main street, plop yourself down in front of the fire, grab one of the books from their libary...and you will find the B&B to be an enjoyable stay.
