This review has to do with an extremely poor experience when I was trying to block hotel rooms for out of town guests for a wedding. I did not stay at this hotel; I was trying to set up rooms for others--so this is a customer service review. I would not stay at this hotel after the experience I had here.
I went to the Fairfield expecting that I would be given some basic information about rates, availability, etc. so that I could make a decision about blocking rooms for our guests. I was surprised to encounter a woman at the desk who seemed most uninterested in giving me even this basic information and even hostile towards me for some reason. I essentially had to pry the information from her, and then she said that the manager would have to actually set up the block of rooms but that he probably would not get around to it for a long time because he had better things to do! (Not exact words, but something just like that.) The whole time, I could see a man who certainly appeared to be the manager, sitting in the back room doing pretty much nothing at all. I ended up feeling like they wanted me to beg to get the rooms or something. Ridiculous.
I also wonder what it was about trying to give the hotel 10 rooms of business that caused them so much difficulty. The woman's hostility was so exaggerated that I almost wondered if she mistook me for someone else who she had a personal grudge against.
I don't know anything about the quality of the rooms here or anything else, but it doesn't really matter because once I was treated with this much disrespect, there is no way I would try to stay here myself, much less subject our guests to this kind of thing. The location of this hotel was good, in relation to the wedding, but I can't in good conscience recommend that anyone stay here because of what happened to me in simply trying to secure rooms for our guests.
Extremely poor.
