“Very Poor Customer Service”

Fairfield Inn Binghamton

1 of 5 stars
Binghamton, New York

This review has to do with an extremely poor experience when I was trying to block hotel rooms for out of town guests for a wedding. I did not stay at this hotel; I was trying to set up rooms for others--so this is a customer service review. I would not stay at this hotel after the experience I had here.
I went to the Fairfield expecting that I would be given some basic information about rates, availability, etc. so that I could make a decision about blocking rooms for our guests. I was surprised to encounter a woman at the desk who seemed most uninterested in giving me even this basic information and even hostile towards me for some reason. I essentially had to pry the information from her, and then she said that the manager would have to actually set up the block of rooms but that he probably would not get around to it for a long time because he had better things to do! (Not exact words, but something just like that.) The whole time, I could see a man who certainly appeared to be the manager, sitting in the back room doing pretty much nothing at all. I ended up feeling like they wanted me to beg to get the rooms or something. Ridiculous.
I also wonder what it was about trying to give the hotel 10 rooms of business that caused them so much difficulty. The woman's hostility was so exaggerated that I almost wondered if she mistook me for someone else who she had a personal grudge against.
I don't know anything about the quality of the rooms here or anything else, but it doesn't really matter because once I was treated with this much disrespect, there is no way I would try to stay here myself, much less subject our guests to this kind of thing. The location of this hotel was good, in relation to the wedding, but I can't in good conscience recommend that anyone stay here because of what happened to me in simply trying to secure rooms for our guests.

Extremely poor.

“Just what we needed!”

Fairfield Inn Binghamton

5 of 5 stars
New Jersey
Aug 13, 2007

This hotel was just what we needed! Very clean, nice room with 1 king bed. The room was quiet (good insulation), clean, comfortable bed. The complimentary breakfast was very satisfying. Plenty of parking. There is an Applebee's restaurant right next to it and it is only 1 min. from the highway for easy access.

My stay at the Fairfield Inn Binghamton was a great one. Only stayed one night enroute to my holiday vacation. Hotel is newly renovated, very clean, nicely decorated, and offers a great self serve continental breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

“Peace of mind and a good night's sleep”

After a group of 30 of us from our company had an unforgetably bad experience at the nearby Binghamton Holiday Inn a month ago it was like coming home to stay at the Binghamton Fairfield last week. Some colleagues inexplicably went back to HI and others tried out the Hampton but a few of us booked our 5 nights here. Fairfield may be a low end Marriott brand but it does not lack top-notch service such as I have experienced at more upscale Marriott properties. My bed was wonderfully comfortable and the room was clean - just as I expected (and thankfully free from insects, rodents, leaks, malfunctioning toilets and various safety concerns that plague that certain local competitor). The floods from last week's violent storm and heavy rains caused an emergency for the county but it didnt affect our comfort at the Fairfield at all.

I enjoyed the Belgian waffles for breakfast although it's a bit tight in that self service area. The pool and spa were relaxing when open but they were closed down for a couple of days for maintenance last week. Cracker Barrell next door served up a full breakfast very quickly when I tried it out. On the other side of the hotel Applebees has a decent bar.

There are a good number of excellent restaurants around. Big hits with our group have been P.S.(the monkey martini is fantastic!) , Number 5, Christie's and Russell's Steak Houses and the Plantation.

Fairfield is without doubt the place to stay if you value peace of mind and want to ensure a quiet and comfortable night's sleep.

“Fairfield Inn / Pleasant Stay”

Fairfield Inn Binghamton

My husband and I rented a room at the Fairfield Inn to celebrate our Anniversary.

Reservations went smoothly and upon check in we were given the room we wanted as well as our request for foam pillows.

The room was extra clean and the bed and pillows were heavenly!

They have a very cute pool and whirlpool as well as a small gym.

If you are interested they also have first run movies for a fee of $9.99.

The other plus is that the Inn is near 2 restaurants within walking distance as well as a movie theater.

It was a great stay.
