I was forced to stay at this hotel due to a power outage at my house during the ice storm. It was simply too cold to be in my house and needed a nice warm room to stay the night (or two). After checking around, I found that many hotels were booked near my house, so I decided on the Courtyard Marriott Red Bank/Lincroft. It is only about 3 minutes from my house and I booked it with the breakfast buffet. After booking early in the morning, I decided on going there early to check in. Check in was at 3, however, I got my room early at about 12 noon. The front desk staff was very kind and efficient, especially B. Shannon. After entering my room, I saw the size and conveniences and was amazed. It had the norms, but with a balcony (all rooms - didn't use because it was winter), closet, and a desk that could be converted into two. There was also free internet access (wireless in lobby and wired in rooms) which was a total plus because I had my laptop. The lobby featured a business area with a laptop and some desks for laptop or writing and a coffee bar (with coffee, tea, and hot cocoa). The lobby had huge seating areas with couches, tables, and seats, along with a fireplace and a big television. You could sit and chat or have you laptop while you sit in complete comfort. The excellent breakfast (extra charge included in room price or you can have it separate) was huge with scrambled eggs, bagels muffins and doughnuts, bacon and sausage, fruit, juice, waffles, and various other items. Its like you are eating at a restaurant. Also, they know you by your last name so if you happen to call the front desk or pass by, they say hi Mr./Mrs. Whatever. It's things like that that make you feel at home. The decor of the hotel and rooms is upscale and very nice. This hotel features a fitness center (with the standard TV and water cooler along with a treadmill, stair machine, bicycle, and running machine. It also features an indoor pool (which I didn't visit) and a courtyard (hence the name) which interior rooms open to (Courtyard Rooms). Overall, this stay was very unexpected, however, made me feel right at home with their hospitality and excellent hotel. I would recommend this to anybody, but especially people who want a restaurant breakfast, great room, and great hospitality.

Staff could care less when informed I found a bed bug feeding on my 4yr old.

The hotel itself is easy to find and easy accessible & close by from the main highway. This is very nice if you just come from the airport after a long flight that you do not have to search for hours in small towns before you find the place. The check in is nice, friendly and more importantly: Quick.

The first impression is that the hotel is a bit out dated (hallways, lobby are a bit dull) but the rooms are very nice for this class of hotel. Everything you need in the room is there and you can see they did a refurbishment not to long ago. A comfortable bed, as I would discover when I went to bed in the night. Not sure why they didn't upgrade the heating system when they were doing the rooms, but it works fine.

The bathroom is good & clean, I like the bath tub/shower area, although no hand shower, the fixed wall shower is very good, the warm water is quick available. The sink area is separate from the bathroom, which is fine with me, I like it either way. The 'shower' towels are a bit small, I love to wrap time around myself after the shower, but these hardly fit. And although not that small, I wouldn't consider myself big either. I would expect these to be bigger, especially in the US.

Free Internet access is definitely a plus on my account and one of the reasons I opted for this hotel. It works very smoothly and the speed is good.

There are no restaurants (only breakfast is served in the 'lobby'). But the reception is very helpful to provide some details on dining places around the hotel, and there are plenty. As usual in the US at driving distance, always a car required. Car parking is good at the hotel & foc. Side entrance gives easy access to car park without going through the main entrance.

Tried the breakfast one day, not really impressed, but not bad either. Just an average 'American' breakfast. Decided that I would not take it other days, but I can imagine people like it.

The check out is something other hotels should also do. The night before you get your bill, and if everything is ok, next morning you just disappear and the amount if charged to the credit card. Very convenient.

My general feel is that the price I paid for this hotel, although it was a corporate rate, was a bit much, but I assume these are standard rates for the US if I look at other similar places. In (south-east) Asia, where I usually travel, for these rates you can stay in a 5 star hotel. But I guess overall it is worth it and for the class of hotel it is definitely above average.

Would definitely consider staying there again, if I need to be in that area for business.

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Courtyard by Marriott. We stayed for 3 nights during the Christmas holidays. Check-in was easy and the staff was friendly, informative, and available. There was always a bowl of delicious snacks at the front desk and a variety of coffees set up in the lobby. There was even hot chocolate available for our little girl.
The rooms are clean and include high-speed Internet access. If you don't have a computer along, there is a computer and printer in the business area near the front desk.
There was a nice indoor pool and hot tub with plenty towels and chaise lounges. The pool area was clean and all equipment was in working order. The fitness room is nice and all the fitness equipment was clean and working also.
Our family will certainly stay here again when visiting relatives in New Jersey!
