“you won't get the Hilton experience”

Hilton Newark Airport

Not what I expected. The location is terrible, but close to the airport. So if you're stuck at the airport this is an option. for others, I would go elsewhere, especially if you have a car. The shuttle service from the airport was very prompt. My driver was friendly and helped with the bags. The check in service was good, nothing too welcoming (Doubletree gives you warm cookies!). Had to pry answers from my check in person, I then looked lost until someone pointed where the elevators were.

My room was a standard double bed with a half window, view of the airport. Nothing spectacular but you get what you paid for. The sheets were clean, and the bed comfy. There are crabtree and evelyn toiletries provided. Lavazza coffee and two packs of tea provided. No bottled water or mini bar. There is no wireless services in your room. You will have to connect via ethernet and pay 9.95/day or go to the public areas to use wifi. A bit of an inconvenience and not what I expected of the hilton.

Far worse was the fitness center. They are renovating and it doesn't look like an entrance to the pool/fitness center. The signage is poorly posted. When I got to the workout room, there were two treadmills, both were BROKEN (out of order signs on them already). There is one stairmaster, one bike left. no free weights. HIghly disappointing. I am quite disguisted after walking out of there.

Overall, this is more like a 2 star hotel, and I even got better amenities at the La Quinta. I am ashamed to say I didn't like the hilton. What a shame.

“Decent place”

Hilton Newark Airport

Jan 13, 2008

Decent 3 star airport hotel

Positives:
Clean, good beds, decent bathroom, nice bar downstairs (this is good considering you probably do not want to live the premises!)

Cons:
Van to hotel needs to run more often-- way too crowded
Definitely not a place to stay to see NYC-- there is nothing at all in the area

    • Disliked — nothing at all around the hotel-- stuck!

“Good location”

Hilton Newark Airport

2 of 5 stars
Hartford, CT

Stayed here for one night as we had a flight the next morning. The hotel location is nice because there's a free shuttle to the airport. But I had some problems when I was there. First, there was a jackhammer somewhere above me that was so loud my TV was vibrating. I called the front desk and the line was busy (from all the other people calling). They said it would stop by 6 or 6:30pm (which it did, but it was still obscenely loud and annoying). Then I discovered my remote control didn't work, so they sent another one up. I went downstairs to use the ATM machine which was also broken. Then I asked the front desk if they could cash a check and they said "we don't do that." I didn't understand that....most hotels will cash a check if you have a credit card on file (which I did). They were nice about it...but I didn't get any cash. They offered to shuttle me down to the Hampton Inn to use their ATM machine but it wasn't worth the hassle and the time. Last problem was my alarm clock - the light on it didn't work, so if I woke up in the middle of the night and needed to know the time, I had to turn on the light. Sort of inconvenient! The food at the restaurant was good and the staff was nice. But I don't think the stay was worth over $200 a night.

“Nice place to stay when at Newark airport”

Hilton Newark Airport

4 of 5 stars
Philadelphia
Jan 9, 2008

Great place to stay. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Did not have that "airport hotel" feel to it. Beds were very nice and got a great night's sleep. The bathroom was a good size and was very clean.

The breakfast restaurant was expensive for the buffet (which they try to push). I asked for a menu and we ordered off that. The food was excellent (breakfast burrito was very good value/quality).

I would stay here again.

“Its a great hotel”

Hilton Newark Airport

I needed a place to stay one night with my dog. They are pet friendly and for the price it was worth it. I paid 89 bucks!

The staff is super friendly. My room had the best bed I ever sleeped in in the pillows were great! They have internet in every room but it does cost 9.95 a night I thought it was a bit pricey.
My dog had a blast overlooking the hug window between the curtains. Keeped him busy all night!

I ordered room service. Food was excellent.

I would stay there any time!
