Dont do it. It was very dirty and the desk clerk was rude and I was embarased to show my wife what I booked for us. We stayed down the street at a much nicer place for only a few more bucks. Please look into it on Trip Advisor befor you book. It works.

I wish I had known about this site prior to making my reservations at the Econo Lodge in Jersey City. My friend and I were also forced to pay for a room that we did not stay in because we did not feel safe. We were greeted with the crime scene tape at the entrance to the hotel. The chain lock in our room had apparently been busted out at some point and was "repaired" with a paper clip, the room was smelly and dirty and when we asked for our money back they said they would show us a 2nd room. This room had "body" hair on the toilet seat as well as dried I dont know what. I sent in a complaint to head office - Choice Hotels International - and nothing was done.

Although it has been a while since I stayed at this hotel, I felt compelled to write how much I hated it! Same as the other reviews, dirty, smelly, loud. When I complained to Econo Lodge via e-mail (which I thought would go to a head office of some sort, but ended up at the hotel itself) a reply suggested I was crazy and the hotel is top-notch. HA!

Firstly, the outside of it doesn't look like it does on the site's picture. Its misleading!
The lobby rug was nasty and dingy and looked like there was dried blood on it! The other patrons checking in the hotel before us looked as if they were of the vagabond, crackhead, prostitute variety! The check in desk was behind bulletproof plexiglass. There was no elevator. The room had a musty odor we couldn't find the source to or get rid of, the shower curtain had furry, black mold all over it and there was no free cable!
It was awful!

DON'T STAY HERE!
