We stayed at the Fairfield Inn, Sparks, Nevada on our way to National Parks in California and Oregon. I had read other reviews about this Inn and thought it would be a good place to stay for one night. One reviewer said to ask for a room opposite the interstate, which we did, and we were glad that we did. Not that it is a really noisy place but the Inn sits just off the interstate and that makes it convenient and also a little noisy. We asked for and got a room, on the first floor, on the parking lot side. It was a very nice, comfortable room, with easy access to the parking lot. That evening, we ate at an Outback less than a mile away and the next morning we had the continental breakfast just down the hall from our room. Yep if you are planning to stay there, ask for a room opposite the interstate unless you plan on getting up very early. We were heading to Lassen Mineral Lodge just outside Lassen Volcanic National Park so this was a nice, clean comfortable place to stay for one night before heading further west. I do recommend this place to stay if you do not want to stay in Reno or any place with a casino.

Nice and Clean, just off freeway, away from the Casino and City. It is a little bit from the Airport, $25.00 cab ride from the airport.. other than two fast food restaurants which share parking lot, the nearest place to eat is not within walking distance.

The hotel walls are a bit thin, I could hear my neighbors tv very well. Staff was very nice and helpful. I'd stay again if i had a car.

A very nice family recreation center is approximately 1 mile away from the hotel. The play center is family friendly with a bowling alley, pool tables, go carts, a kids maze, and even a water park witch is open in the summer.

I stayed at the Fairfield Inn the last week in October for five nights. Check-in was fast, easy and quite friendly. The first room they put me in had a broken thermostat. I returned to the front desk to let them know and they were quite embarrassed by this, apologizing profusely. Nobody's perfect, and the folks at this hotel handled the room change with aplomb, style and grace. I wound up in a handicapped-accessible room which included a hand-held shower massage that I wish I had at home! The bed was wonderfully comfortable and I hated to leave. Other complaints about road noise were way overblown...my room faced the highway and while I could hear vehicles going by, it was NEVER objectionable. This is actually a very quiet room. Add in the free internet access and a 100% non-smoking property (unusual in Reno) and the Fairfield adds up to the best place to stay, bar none.

We stayed here one night while on a two week motorcycle trip throughout the west. Although the Inn is right off the freeway, we found it quiet and peaceful. The rooms were a tad small but on the elegant side for a chain. The breakfast included a nice variety of options. The internet (DSL) worked flawlessly. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Starbucks fiends: You'll find your fix about 1.5 miles away on Prater St. There's also a Baja Fresh and a Ben & Jerry's in the same local.
