“A great little find in Reno”

Hampton Inn & Suites Reno

5 of 5 stars
Simi Valley, CA
Jul 1, 2008

My husband, six year old son and I stayed here for one night as a waystation on our way to Lake Tahoe.

The hotel is in an industrial park off the highway but there was no road noise. You will need a car if you want to go to any of the casinos or restaurants and shopping.

There is a guest laundry, business center, free internet and a free hot breakfast. There's also an indoor pool and spa and small but efficient work out facility.

The front desk staff were tremendous and I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Brand new. Very nice property. Restaurants within 3-4 miles as well as large casino. Free breakfast is usual Hampton quality.

“Typical Hampton; FAR from downtown Reno”

Hampton Inn & Suites Reno

First the downside: location. This property is a 15-minute drive on the highway from downtown Reno. If you are coming to town to gamble a the downtown casinos (Harrah's, Silver Legacy, El Dorado, Circus Circus, etc.), you may want to choose another location that's more convenient. The nearer casinos are Peppermill and Atlantis, but even those are a 10-minute drive up highway 395. This Hampton is in the South Meadows area of Reno, which seems to be mostly newer housing and shopping developments. Hotel is located in a business park that is very quiet evenings and weekends. There is a small scale construction project going on next door. Property backs to a major highway and traffic is audible inside your room, so if that bothers you note that the odd numbered rooms are on the highway side. Ask for an even numbered room if you want to avoid highway noise.

The upside: this is a relatively new Hampton Inn so the hotel is in very good condition. Smallish rooms for a brand new Hampton in the suburbs, but it has all the standard Hampton stuff: free breakfast; free internet terminal in the business center (in constant use by kids staying in the hotel, which is normal for Hampton unfortunately). If you're a regular Hampton Inn customer, you'll find no surprises here.

“A Heavenly Experience!”

Hampton Inn & Suites Reno

5 of 5 stars
Seattle, Washington
May 24, 2008

We usually stay at the Hyatt Regency in Incline Village but had to pickup our friend at the Reno Airport. I checked the reviews & decided to try the Hampton. My husband & I have stayed at Hampton Inns in the past & they were just OK. I have to say that our experience was just wonderful. The staff was friendly and courteous. Our rooms were immaculate. Our breakfast was wonderful. Many choices to choose from. We would definitely stay again. Of course, the price is higher than most but well worth it for me.

“Staff needs a makeover!”

We were very disappointed with our visit here! The front desk were sour-faced and unhelpful at check-in and check-out. We had hair in our drain which is a signal for us to NEVER come back. The hotel is way out of the way as well & nothing around to eat. Free Breakfast left a lot to be desired as well - certainly not te best around. We also came to find out while we were there that we were really overpaying for our room; rates at most hotels in the area were half the price or less. The hotel would not reduce our rate at all. We left the hotel early and went to another hotel for the rest of our stay in Reno, we had a much better experience there at a much better price! This hotel is minimal quality, maximum price! We will not get ripped off again here!
