“Away from the casinos”

We wanted a nice motel away from the casinos on our way back to California. Unluckily because of a soccer tournament being in town we had to book a place a few miles out of the way. This Marrriott was in shopping center and across the street from another one. It was a new place with a nice room, a beautiful lobby, and an nice view of the freeway. I thought it was a litte overpriced for one night and no breakfast. You had to pay extra if you wanted one in the lobby area. We left in the morning and had breakfast in Truckee. It has a cute downtown area of shops and restaurants.

“Great Service – Convenient Location”

September 6, 2006 – I had the opportunity to spend one night at the Reno Courtyard for business. I enjoyed my one-night stay!

The hotel is located adjacent to highway 395 only about five miles south of Reno/Tahoe airport.

Check in was typical “Marriott” quick, taking about one minute. I had reserved a king non-smoking room with a request for high floor. My room was #423 on the top floor. It was a little larger than some of the rooms and also had a small walk-out balcony.

The king bed was very comfortable and had five pillows. There was also a queen size sofa bed and coffee table. Lighting in the room was excellent. I had to move the night stand to reach an electrical outlet to plug in my cell phone charger.

I always have work to do in my room and I appreciated the large desk with good lighting and plenty of outlets. High speed internet access is complimentary and worked perfectly. The desk chair was a rocking-swivel office style chair and was very comfortable.

The hotel restaurant is only open for breakfast. Because we left at 5:00 AM, we did not have a chance to try it.

The hotel has a small indoor pool and whirlpool spa. There is a small exercise room adjacent to the pool with the typical machines and a wall-mounted TV. There is a small quest laundry on the first floor across from the exercise room.

There is a PC and printer available for guests to use in the lobby. We made use of it to check-in and print boarding passes for early AM flights.

The hotel is located in a commercial area with numerous restaurants and stores all around it. Most importantly there is a Starbucks within about 100 yards of the hotel entrance! For those needing to buy toothpaste, deodorant, etc. there is a Target Store across the street with a good selection of travel size cosmetics. There is plenty of free parking around the hotel.

For convenience to the airport, access to highway 395, nearby shopping, spotlessly clean rooms, and great service I recommend the Reno Courtyard

I love this hotel. If I ever have a reason to come back to Reno, this is where I will stay. Everyone was so friendly, the place is SO clean! And the beds are the most comfortable I've experienced in a hotel, with lots of fluffy fabulous pillows. A full range of channels on the TV, the pool area is clean, the jacuzzi was perfect, the free hi-speed internet - I could go on and on. This is in a good location, right off the highway, perfect for a couple of traveling women.

If you are not here to gamble, and plan on renting a car - I would recommend this hotel.

“Nice Hotel!”

As always, I try to be fair in my commentary and provide the proverbial good, bad and the ugly.

ROOM: Stayed in room 215, a King Bed Suite. The room was clean and comfortable. The room offered a separate vanity and bathroom. In the front room, it had a coffee-type bar with a microwave and coffee maker. Free internet was great. BAD: very stark room. It appeared as if every room, suite or double, was allocated the same funds to decorate. Also, because it was near the elevator (literally on the back side) it was very noisy most of the night. Price paid $149.00 plus tax.

SERVICE: Could not have been nicer. The front desk staff was accomodating and very pleasant. Whoever leads their training should be very proud. One night clerk, when we returned from some evening meetings, was surprised to see us come through the back door. There was no parking in the front and temps were in the 30s. Rather than walk around, we walked through the back. He insisted we couldn't do that and the gates and doors should have been locked. Needless to say, I wasn't walking back outside.

LOCATION: The hotel is next to a shopping mall with a Starbucks within steps from the front enterance. Lots of dining options within one mile in either direction. Only problem, the street it was on was crowded with traffic constantly. We rarely didn't have significant waits to get into downtown.

Hope it helps. I will definitely stay their again, but in a normal non-suite room.

I love this place. I travel all the time and do NOT like staying in the Labyrinth, smokey casino's. This hotel is designed for business travel. The Courtyard makes you feel special... they know my name!
