“Great time”

Atlantis Casino Resort Spa

5 of 5 stars
Poteau, Oklahoma
Jun 19, 2008

We stayed four nights at the Atlantis and were surprised to be booked in a suite. We booked through Trip.res.com for $39 a night so we were not expecting a suite. The room was great, the buffet was good, the slot were bad to me but good to my wife, the pool area is very nice also. We went downtown to a comedy club for a show, we rode the city bus for $2 each. It has a stop in front of the casino. We rented a car and drove to Lake Tahoe and Virginia City. Tahoe is beautiful and VC is a very interesting historical town.

“Golf in Reno”

Atlantis Casino Resort Spa

4 of 5 stars
pacifica ca
Jun 4, 2008

Our 4th year at the Atlantis with our golf group. This year, as in past years the service was good. As for ssome of the previous regarding hotel condition and service, I do not see it. The Atlantis is always clean and up to date. My room was fine and made up each day. No problems there. Once again, the steakhouse provided a great meal. A little pricey but acceptable. The Sky Terrace Seafood and Sushi bar is where you want to go. All you can eat Sushi for lunch on Monday for only 15.99 each. Not just little potions, but a complete order. This place is going tru a major renovation and should be even better in the future. The only negative on our trip was at check in. We had a group of 75 or so for a golf trip. Upon check in, we received nothing in out palckets relating to golf. In years past, we have always received a list and directions of golf and activites. Also, we were promised drink tickets. We got nothing. I asked the desk supervisor about this and he said it was not part of our package. How could nonoe of this be part of a golf package? Otherwise everything was fine. I had no problems with hotel staff and everyone was very friendly.

“We had a very nice stay at Atlantis -- twice”

Atlantis Casino Resort Spa

4 of 5 stars
Houston, TX
Jun 3, 2008

There are different room types and different pricing levels for this hotel. I am thinking perhaps some of the negative reviews must have been for the cheapest rooms, because our room was absolutely fine. I paid $68 for a room in the Dolphin Tower (got the rate on the hotel website) and the room (as you can see in these photos) was perfectly fine, big, comfortable, clean, and even had a nice view of downtown Reno. We stayed two Tuesdays in a row (traveled in between) and had no problems at all with check in. Nice staff and short lines. We had rooms 912 and 1112. We also ate in the Parrott cafe and it was very good, what you would expect for a cafe in a casino, and no one got deadly food posioning or any such thing. The casino is smoky, but they do have an area upstairs that is non-smoking and it's pretty neat as well, it's like a bridge with windows on both sides so you can see outside when you are playing. All bartenders and employees were nice & friendly. We would stay here again in a hearbeat and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. Sorry others had bad experiences, but we have no complaints.

“Still a wonderful place!”

Atlantis Casino Resort Spa

5 of 5 stars
The Netherlands
Jun 1, 2008

After having been in this hotel in 2000 and having read not such great reviews on this side I was happy to find out that this is still a great place.

Friendly staff, great room, perfect spa and very nice casino. According to the Reno locals this is the best casino in town!
The crab and steak buffet was great and so was the normal buffet, however after a couple of days the food of the normal buffet gets a bit boring.

“Showing signs of age & neglect”

Atlantis Casino Resort Spa

2 of 5 stars
San Jose, CA
May 25, 2008

This used to be quite a nice place, but it seems as though the ravages of time and neglect are taking its toll. I stayed in a tower room, the bedspread looked as though it had not been cleaned in years, the sheets were threadbare. The carpet had a huge stain in the middle of the room and the furnishings were showing signs of aging. After some confusion at check-in regarding my actual arrival date, the matter was resolved but it cost me more than the price quoted at booking. Would I stay there again, NO WAY, the new suites at the Peppermill are far superior at roughly the same rate.
