“Great People, Great Stay”

Eldorado Hotel Casino

We stayed at the Eldorado 4/28-4/30, and I must say I was very pleasantly surprised. Having been to Reno several times over the years, I have gambled and dined at the Eldorado before but had never stayed there. I have always stayed at the Reno Hilton/Grand Sierra, and have always been pleased. I must say, however, I think the Eldorado has won me over permanently.

We were treated with the utmost respect and courtesy from start to finish. The front desk staff, the bar staff in Brew Brothers (try the Redhead Amber Ale), the dealers, everyone. I have to give special mention to Jany, the casino host. She went above and beyond for us during our visit, and made us feel like the Eldorado was truly happy to have us as guests.

Most of the casinos in Nevada are corporate-owned and have a very impersonal feel to them unless you are a high roller, but the Eldorado feels like the family-run establishment it is (it's owned by the Carano family of Ferrari-Carano Winery, one of the most beautiful wineries in the Dry Creek Valley, but I'll save that for another review).

As for our room, it was a typical king room, clean, comfortable, plenty of room, nothing overly fancy, but certainly comparable to the standard rooms I've stayed in at the Grand Sierra, Atlantis, and Silver Legacy.

I can't say enough about the people...they were truly what made our short visit so pleasant. We will definitely be back in the next couple months.

“Love Reno”

We got married in Reno. And we had very romantic dinner at Roxy's on our honeymoon that night and the manager gave us complementary two glassesof champagne to us. To me El Dorado is always be special but I like Eldorado because we go to Reno about twice a year and always stay at El Dorado also we had honeymoon there, I like Eldorado because we go to Reno about twice a year and always stay at El Dorado and Eldorado is they give us comp rooms all the time for coming there but sometimes their are not totally free comp. Only certain times we get total free comp rooms but other times it goes against our comp account that we have to earn to get them off alike we have to gamble to get it off of our account. But Harrah's we get comp rooms that totally free comp room all the time. But I like the rooms because they are bigger than Harrah's rooms. I also like think El Dorado comp builds faster than any other casinos in Reno.
But I love walking back and forth from Circus Circus and Silver Legacy and Eldorado. To me I think I am getting three casinos in one. And you don't have to go outside to get to another casino.

“Nice people , beware of room”

First off let mr say the front desk staff were great! Very helpful!
Second, I could not get out of there fast enough!
Apparently to no fault of the Hotel, my reservation was canceled. My daughter reserved us a room for two nights and used our email address, it was a birthday gift to me. Some one was using my email address long story and canceled the room.
The gal at the front desk gave us a "upgrade" because we required a smoking room.and they had no more economy rooms left. I thought this was great... until I got to the cubical/ room... It was tiny it was on the 4th floor facing a wall and air conditioning unit... there was nothing to see. If my husband sat on the end of the bed and I want to pass by him, he would have to lean back. The walls were paper thin, I could hear people using the bathroom... from where I dont know or care to know. The doors would not close with out slamming them. All day and night you would here slamming doors and people releiving them selves UGGGG. If this was a upgrade, I would hate to have seen and economy room. NO coffee in the rooms. You had to get up, shower get dressed and what ever else you require to go into public and go get coffee! And since I did not sleep well from the slamming and the ...well you know. I was in a horrible mood and would have loved to stare at the air conditioning duct from the small confines of my room with a cup of coffee. I would have loved to sit out side by the empty pool and breath Reno's smog filled air! I will NEVER go back to Reno unless is absolutely free and I can afford a suite! I am sure they get coffee and so breathing room!
The Siler legacy was less expensive and much more room. We stayed there one night. Still no coffee. There was a convention there and it took 1/2 hour just to get a cup of coffee ***ggggrrrrr. Shaking fist in furry*** well maybe not fury but really frustrated!!!
Make sure you really upgrade, ask to see the room first, dont be cheap like me and stay at the silver legacy at least we could see outside.

Management Response

(Management representative)

After reading your critique of your last visit with us, I am very distressed to hear about your accommodations. Because I did not see the room number you stayed in, and I have no way of looking up your reservation, I am not in a position to thoroughly investigate what happened with your hotel reservation or which room you were given.

Not all of our rooms have amazing views. I wish they did, and I'm sure because your reservation was previously cancelled, our hotel staff gave you what was available at the time.

Please accept my sincerest apology on behalf of the Carano Family for your visit with us. We really do try our best to accommodate the needs of each and every guest who walks into the Eldorado, and we pride ourselves on our friendliness, quality and service. It is never our intention to provide you with a product that is less than what you expected. I would love to have more information, so that the challenge you experienced could be researched further, corrected and possibly recovered in order to provide you with a better "Eldorado Experience".

I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed our hotel staff. Hopefully next time, we can provide you with an upgraded room type if you do choose to give us another try.

Please feel free to contact me, so that we can discuss your experience in greater detail.

“Great Prices”

Really excellent value for a Hotel Casino in Reno. Staff was very accomodating, and there were a lot of reasonably priced food options on site. Although it could use a little updating in the rooms, it's a really good option all things considered. I got a room & breakfast & Dinner for less than I (over)paid at the Reno Hampton for just the room. Casino was very lucky for me too!

This place is really a great value. It's not the newest, but very clean & good food. We had stayed the previous evening at the Hampton Inn in Reno, and it was way out of the way & COST MORE THAN TWICE AS MUCH with no food or anything!. This hotel was a great value & great location.
