Stayed in this hotel during a driving holiday across USA. We have stayed on the strip before and only booked here as the ones on the strip were either fully booked or too expensive. We didn't expect alot as it was alot cheaper than the ones on the strip but were very pleasantly suprised. Its a new hotel about 10 to 15 mins drive from the strip, so you do need a car. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the rooms are spacious and clean. It has a great pool and spa which is nice after a hot day in Vegas. It is near the main road and a train line but we stayed on the far side of the hotel to the train line and did not notice the trains or the road noise. The best bit about this hotel is the FREE home made cookies and milk at 6pm every day. We will be staying here again, as the strip hotels are big, busy and quite unfriendly. Also we found the best way was to park for free in the Fashion Mall car park which is on the Strip, you can leave the car here all evening its not locked even after the mall closes, so you can enjoy all the strip just as much.

This hotel is a nice standard HIE property with large rooms for Vegas. It is very convenient for day trips to Death Valley or Valley of Fire. Everything in the hotel is nice, but nothing very special. Rates are appropriate for what you get. Evening milk and cookies are delicious.
But, there is the noise. The triple noise - the highway, the railroad and planes taking off from Nellis Airforce Base. We were joking that they certainly don't let you sleep in Vegas, even if you are away from the Strip.

Stayed for one night this past weekend. As forewarned by other travellers, I was aware of the trains and had one pass by just before I checked in. At checkin, I said that I did want a quiet room, making reference to the earlier train. They promptly changed my room to the 3rd floor facing away from the tracks. The room was quiet. Could feel the floor shake the odd time, probably when another train went by.

Breakfast was good, the pool was samll but nice, they just received a opublic computer with Internet access, that was free.

All in all the HI Express are newer hotels with a good standard. If booking a room, ask for a floor other than the 1st floor, since the front desk told me the 1st floor rooms are single pane windows. The other two floors are double paned.

Small negative, the toilet seemed not to be bolted completely fown. It did not leak, but moved when you sat on it.

What a place to build a hotel! Right next to railroad tracks with trains running throughout the night. Only stayed 2 nights - enough was enough. The hotel itself was OK and the staff were polite. Wouldn't recommend anyone to stay there - its just too noisy.
