Just returned from a two-night stay at the Holiday Inn Express in North Las Vegas. Having read the reviews for this hotel ahead of time, I anticipated that the hotel would be extremely noisy. This was not the case, at least from my experience. My room was on the side of the hotel next to the train tracks and I probably only heard two or three trains during the overnight hours of my stay...neither of which was overly distracting or annoying. I am usually a light sleeper but did not awake during the night at all due to any noisy trains, traffic, etc. I thought the hotel was very clean with friendly staff. I chose the hotel because it was pet friendly...although the $25 dollar fee was a bit steep for my small chihuahua, the staff was more than willing to let me walk to and from my room with my pet on its leash...the deluxe continental breakfast in the morning was also surprisingly nice. Most continental breakfasts are kind of skimpy, but this one had cereal, yogurt, fruit, even waffles and bagels...more than enough to start your day off right. All-in-all, I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean, pet-friendly place to sleep at in the Vegas area...it was nice knowing at the end of a fun day of gambling and such that I could head back to the hotel for a refreshing night of sleep. I should note, however, that I was visiting family in the North Las Vegas area...which made the hotel convenient. Do not stay here if you are hoping to be near the strip...it is a solid 15-20 minute freeway drive from the strip. If you have a car, however, and like the idea of escaping from all of the craziness, this hotel is definitely a great place to stay.
