Our room was considered a "deluxe" room. The deluxe part was that is had a coffee maker, clock radio, and pillowtop mattress. The room furnishings were in excellent condition, so maybe the room was newly remodeled. (I have nothing to compare that to, since this was our 1st time staying at the Edgewater.) Our room was a river view and we really enjoyed that, looking out the window and seeing the river flow below. Though you can not see the river when you are sitting on the bed, (you have to be at the window looking out) it was a still a nice view. The room was properly cleaned when we arrived, and was cleaned the next day when we returned from breakfast. We ate at the buffet when we arrived, which was between lunch and dinner and the food was ok, some things had been sitting out past their peek. Fairly good variety of food, but nothing spectacular. We also ate at the buffet for breakfast the next morning. We arrived right as the buffet opened, so everything was very fresh and tasty. We had breakfast the next day at the Coco's at Edgewater and the meal there was good as well. Same Coco's as the chain of restaurants across the US. Compares to Denny's. The staff that we encountered during our stay were friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel.
