“Edgewater Hotel Great”

Edgewater Hotel & Casino

My husband and I stayed at the newly renovated Edgewater Hotel for 4 nights June 8th. We stayed in the Sedona Tower on the 22nd floor. Check in and the elevators the first afternoon were the only problems. Check in is very inefficient, making people wait back in line after registering to pick up their keys once room was ready. Three of the six elevators were down for several hours Sunday afternoon, but all were working by dinnertime and you could actually talk to the elevator people for updates as they were right there. According to one of their publications, the Edgewater was closed last year for renovations. Our room was clean, large, and new with a nice view of the Nevada hills. It was cleaned each day prior to 10 am and cleaned well. We ate breakfast at the buffet twice and had plenty of choices, good tasting, and good service each time. While gambling, drinks were plentiful and delivered efficiently. We would walk around Laughlin each morning for an hour or so, and didn't ever have the same crowded feelings you have in Vegas. All the employees were very pleasant and kind. All in all it was a very plesant time and experience. I would recommend to anyone not needing all the lights, flash, and crowds of Vegas.

“River View Room was Very Nice”

Check in at midnight was a breeze, upgraded us to a river view king room for free. Room was very nice, clean, and looked newer. The next morning at 8:15am we hung our little card on the door to make up the room, when we returned at 8pm the room had not been touched and the little sign was still hanging. The next morning when we seen the maid, she had our room done in 15min, with new sheets and bedspread. That kinda made up for it. We only slept here so i can't comment on the resteraunts or gaming. Also the cafe downstairs is now a coco's and we seen very few people there.

“Not that bad”

Hey I have read a lot of stuff but I have been here 5 times with my family and I gotta say.

all though this is not a 5 star place, it sure beats Motel 6 any day.

We were treated nicly and have not had any promblems except for one monir thing, one of our rooms and that was taken care of quickly.

The people there seem to care about others. OK the free drinks are waterd down or at least it seems so stick with the free beer at the slots and enjoy.

The food at the buffet is really good.

“Hotel Just OK, Outside Noisey”

Edgewater Hotel & Casino

2 of 5 stars
Phoenix, Arizona

After reading all the reviews you wonder just what people want in a hotel room. I read don't stay in the Monterey tower which is only three floors. The Sedona was the best but more expensive. No one mentioned the Santa Fe tower which is only six floors. The hotel site didn't mention the Sedona just pool or river view. So I went middle of the road with Santa Fe. It was your average room, nothing fancy. Old style TV and small bathroom. The carpet was your average wash and wear that hadn't been washed in a while. Probably just vacummed a lot. Bath tub shower combo. The shower was low so tall people will have a problem. In the king bed rooms the vanity was small. The fan in the bathroom was noisey. The walls were thin and the doors all slamed shut with a loud bang.
Over all the room was clean and simple the view was of the valet area. At night it was noisey with people coming and going. Sound carries at night. The Monterey was across the way and right in front of the loading dock. The trucks backed in in the morning and it must have been really loud as they went past the rooms. It was loud from across the way. Also the Garbage truck began picking up garbage and beeping at about 5 AM. Someone set off the fire alarm at 4 AM on the first day so It's okay I was up anyway. A street sweeper went by sounding like some sort of massive dragon. If you plan to sleep at night the Monterey or the Santa Fe is not for you. Perhaps staying on the other side of the tower would be best. The spooky elevator. One elevator was working. They also used it to take equipment up. It took a long time. The elevator itself was creaky, and when full everyone wondered if it would make it slowly or very fast to the first floor.
To avoid all the noise the Sedona tower not listed on the site just listed as pool or river view. Get a room on a higher floor. The buffet was good. With the club card it was 2.99 for breakfast. No matter what time you get there, there was always a long line. Not enough help, or cut back on help. I got there at 8:30 and waited a half hour to pay. Three checkouts open. I got there when it opened at 7 AM and still waited fifteen minutes. One poor lady ringing up the customers. The food good, lots of choices. Lunch and Dinner are also cheap I think $4.99 for Lunch and $6.99 for Supper. On the weekends it is more expensive and the discount does not count for brunch. It is very good though. There was a CoCo's and a Steak House.
Lots of video poker and penny etc machines. I had a non smoking room which did not smell of smoke. The casino did not smell bad unless someone was sitting next to me smoking. I would not stay at Edgewater again. The rooms are old and the elevator creaky unless your staying in the main tower. There was a McDonalds which seemed to be open all lthe time. The other liittle snack bars seemed to open and close at various times. There was a Pizza Hut and Seattle Coffee combined which never seemed to have anyone there to wait on customers.

I always wish for easy access to the rooms without valet. It is not handicaped friendly without valet. There never is an easy way to get the luggage to the room without valet. It's planned that way. I found if I took the ramp that the cars came up down it was easiest to get the luggage to the hotel. Nope I wouldn't stay here again.

“Basic room, but clean.”

Edgewater Hotel & Casino

The Edgewater offers basic accomodations. It's nothing fancy, but if you're not planning to use the room for anything except sleeping, it's fine.
An earlier reviewer (Palla) had a bad experience with respect to the cleanliness of the room and the (lack of) housekeeping. I can't say whether his experience was unusually bad or whether mine was unusually good, but I had no complaints at all about the cleanliness.
