We were originally booked into the Monte Carlo (paid $90 a night on priceline) but because of the fire that happened the week before we arrive, they have to move us to their sister property. Stayed there for 2 nights.
Based on the price we paid in Monte Carlo -> they determine that we're in the "Exclalibur" grade. Knowing it was an older establishment, I objected to their arragement but the Monte Carlo/MGM booking staff would not do anything. They assured me that we'll be booked into one of the "newly renovated rooms" in tower 2.
We arrived a 8:30pm on a Sunday...check in lines was long and took us about 20mins. The casino is going thru re-carpeting, etc as well so we'd to go in big circles to walk from one end to the other.
Rooms are renovated with LCD TV and nice bed. However, only the sink/vanity in the bathroom was upgraded and the old/original shower remained. Decor in the lobby/Casino is very outdated. Outdoor pool was closed.
Internet costs $13 a day. Front desk explained to us that $1/day would be charged automatically to the room to cover local calls. However, we used the express check out service and was charged $50 on credit card. We only used internet for one day and the rest of the charges were the 1-800 calls made. Apparently they charge $1.00 per 1-800 call.
Did not dine on-site as none of their establishment was too exciting.
This is my 2nd trip to Vegas and if I'd a choice, would definitely not pay $90 for an Exclalibur room.
