It was with some trepidation that we went to Rosemary’s; how could it possibly live up to all the hype on TA? Well, it did. I had never been before and have been to many other fine dining restaurants and I would rate Rosemary’s in the top ten of all time. This is based on the food, variety, presentation, service and value for money (only drawback is it’s located in a strip mall) away from the Strip. We had reservations for my birthday at 6:30, unfortunately we were 20 minutes late. I apologized for our tardiness, but did not receive attitude and was seated within minutes, even though it was packed.
Started off with an amuse bouche of whitefish tartare sandwiched between thin slices of English cucumber-very refreshing. I had the best bloody Mary ever (fresh zippy horseradish) and my husband over dinner sampled 3 different beers: Grolsch (Dutch), Pilsner Urquell (Czech) and Stella Artois (Belgium). We each had the trio seafood sample appetizer: grilled shrimp with intense, smoky BBQ sauce with cold slaw, salmon tartare, crab cake croquet delicately coated with panko breadcrumbs, fried and set atop a light creamy dill dressing over cucumber salad. The service was attentive, impeccible without being intrusive.
We shared the Parmesan cheese twice baked soufflé. The dinner was accompanied by fresh potato bread rolls and sweet nut/chocolate roll. The later seemed more like dessert bread so skipped that. Finished off the dinner by sharing the apple tart & cinnamon ice cream – only wish that they’d provided a bit more of the lovely ice cream to match the tart.
Oh, the final touch was the presentation of chocolate and peanut butter bon- bons – could only manage a nibble of the chocolate one. I would definitely make a return visit, even it we don’t go Wednesday (Ladies half off night) - our total out the door cost was $90.
