Gabrielli House and its hosts, Bill and Cindy Gabrielli, offer a wonderful stay to guests that visit the North Tahoe area. Our stay began after a 3 day conference stay in South Tahoe at the Embassy Suites. We contacted Bill the day of check-in, and he was helpful with directions and accommodating of our late check-in after spending the day riding Sierra at Tahoe, which is directly opposite their home across the lake.
The trip around the lake was easy, and so was finding the house. When we arrived, we were welcomed to the home and offered choice of available rooms. Since all of the rooms were warm and inviting, it was a difficult choice. Our room was decorated with beautiful furnishings and the beds were exceptional. The combination of their premium linens and great beds made for a rejuvenating sleep for our tired bodies after riding at Alpine Meadows and Homewood.
Bill and Cindy add many special touches to ensure you are comfortable and content. The common area is equipped with a small refrigerator with drinks. There is a coffee pot and an electric tea kettle with a fantastic assortment of teas that Bill selects from his experience in the Tea industry. There are TVs with satellite in all rooms, and each has a DVD player. And for 70's rock fans, Bill is happy to share his Moody Blues and other CDs. Cindy was especially helpful and kind in sharing her serving ware so that we could enjoy wine, cocktails and cheese in the evening. She even treated each of us with a scrumptious piece of carrot cake. I can't overstate how helpful the hosts are and relaxing their home is for guests. Cindy's breakfast is an experience that will impress even the most discerning person, and makes for a wonderful start to your day. Additionally, she is sensitive to any special food needs that you may have.
For those with allergies, you will be happy to know that Bill and Cindy's home is pet and smoke free. The home is kept very clean and tidy, yet the overall feel was warm and cozy. It is an easy drive to any area of interest on the north shore, including Diamond Peak, NorthStar, Alpine Meadows, Squaw, and Homewood. There are many restaurants in very close proximity, and you can choose from fine dining to local hangouts. And for those feeling the need to visit the casino, the Hyatt is right down the hill.
In summary, we would rate this establishment as a top choice for those who want to be treated as special guests, and feel as comfortable as being at home. I can say without hesitation that we will return again, and recommend the Gabrielli House to all who visit Lake Tahoe!
