Upon arrival for check-in, I was told my room was not clean yet and would be ready in 20 minutes. Several other people arriving at the same time were told the same thing.
I returned 30 minutes later and was given a 2-bed, (2-room) suite which is what I had booked.
When I opened the door to the room, I found that it had NOT been cleaned. In fact there was a glass of orange juice on the counter and the linens were rolled up and laying on the sofa.
I returned to the front desk and requested a clean 2 bed, 2 room suite as I had been promised. The clerk nervously typed in the computer and then came back with 'I'm sorry but the room you reserved is not available'. The people who had the room the night before decided to stay.
I told him that I had been in the room and there was no one in the room and why had his story changed in the last 30 minutes? It was apparent that housekeeping had started cleaning the room and decided it was time to go home.
Since I was travelling with 3 small children, I asked him what he was going to do for me as I had reserved a room with 2 beds. He said all he could offer was single bedded rooms, which later turned out to be an outright lie. Later that night, I checked with Hilton on availability at this hotel and they showed 2-bedded rooms available for my nights. They were the rooms with 2 beds & 2 bathrooms which I was not offered, even at a higher rate. They wanted to fill the single bedded rooms which have no seperation from the living and sleeping area and which are harder to fill and 'save' the 2-bedded / 2 room suites to sell to walk-ins at a higher rate.
This chain also claims to have a 100% satisfacton guarantee. However when I voiced my concerns with both the front desk and General Manager, my concerns fell upon deaf ears, and were essentially ignored. If you are looking for a suite, I suggest going elsewhere where you may actually get what you reserved, instead of efficiency hotel rooms.
