Visited here in early June and found that LLV was also pretty deserted. Not sure if this is due to teething problems or heat but most likely both. I stayed at the Hyatt which was very nice (the highlight being the dinner at the Japanese Sushi Restaurant - worth the trip even if staying on The Strip). I came here purely to play golf for a couple of days, on the cheap due to summer rates as even I think $200 plus for a round on these courses is obscene. For those of you interested, the back nine at The Falls is spectacular (the front nine is terribly boring), as are some of the holes at Reflection Bay.
From speaking with one of the cart girls, they are currently building a 3rd course, which will no doubt add to the attraction, but at this stage, the cost (I am travelling on GBP which eases the pain), the fact that they are determined to blast every hill into the ground to build more housing (Memo Developers: golfers hate having holes divided by McMansions) and the general Work In Progress state of the place is sure to keep LLV from developing as a popular destination for a long time. Re the development, we even saw evidence of detonations taking place that day - the forecaddie certainly said most locals had had enough of all the development.
