Visited here in early June and found that LLV was also pretty deserted. Not sure if this is due to teething problems or heat but most likely both. I stayed at the Hyatt which was very nice (the highlight being the dinner at the Japanese Sushi Restaurant - worth the trip even if staying on The Strip). I came here purely to play golf for a couple of days, on the cheap due to summer rates as even I think $200 plus for a round on these courses is obscene. For those of you interested, the back nine at The Falls is spectacular (the front nine is terribly boring), as are some of the holes at Reflection Bay.

From speaking with one of the cart girls, they are currently building a 3rd course, which will no doubt add to the attraction, but at this stage, the cost (I am travelling on GBP which eases the pain), the fact that they are determined to blast every hill into the ground to build more housing (Memo Developers: golfers hate having holes divided by McMansions) and the general Work In Progress state of the place is sure to keep LLV from developing as a popular destination for a long time. Re the development, we even saw evidence of detonations taking place that day - the forecaddie certainly said most locals had had enough of all the development.

Beware, this place is really DEAD. We visited for a day in summer and found absolutely noone around the place. Everything was empty, including casino , shops and restaurants. If you want to be alone this is surely the place! Not sure how the businesses and hotels are surviving here.

The Casino Montalago works with the Ritz Carlton to form a great new Casino with Shops,a Ritz Hotel all on the Lake Front with fantastic views. The lake is beautiful if the weather is comfortable. Overall the price is NOT cheap and the hotel is NOT close to anything other than Boulder City. The Las Vegas Strip is about 30 Minutes away. If you don't care about being close to the Las Vegas strip and want a real nice place to stay...then the Ritz Carlton is a great choice. The service, food, and amenities are all first class. Golfers will also enjoy the location as well --- the reflection bay course is located at Lake Las Vegas and is one of the best in Clark County.
