I stayed here for a night in November. It is a good value (rates were around $110 a night), but you get what you pay for. The lobby is very nice, with a beautiful library area, but that's about the only highlight.
My room smelled of smoke even though it was non-smoking. The heater is one of those loud units on the wall below the window. The bathroom was straight out of 1985 and in serious need of renovation. The TV armoir wasn't set up properly and the doors refused to stay open (I had to prop one door open with my suitcase), once you opened the doors the TV comes falling forward. My room didn't even have a room number on the door outside. No paper was delivered in the morning. The restaurant had a mediocre breakfast buffet, featuring some packaged muffins/danish, eggs, sausage/bacon, french toast, some fruit and yogurt, some cereals, and an omelette bar. Oatmeal was lacking.
I am a Wyndham by Request member, and I've stayed at a lot of different Wyndhams over the years, this one was at the low end. Again, it's half the price of the Marriott in Burlingham on Mall Road, but I'd still pick the Marriott if I had to choose again.
