We were staying in Overland Park and the hotel recommended Bristol Seafood Grill which was about 2 miles down the road from the hotel. I had to laugh at the thought of finding good seafood so far inland. Bristol proved me wrong. The food was excellent. My daughter and I chose different fish. I had the Wild Alaskan Sockeye Salmon with a sun-dried tomato reduction which was excellent. It was accompanied with steamed asparagus and Yukon gold pototoes with Parmesan. I don't think I quite licked my plate, but I will say that I was tempted. My daughter had the Chilean Sea Bass with a lobster-spinach risotto. Very good but the fish was slightly overcooked. The risotto was excellent. Also served with asparagus. I started with the lobster bisque which was so deliciously creamy that I just wanted a whole tub of it. The reason for the above average rating rather than excellent is that my daughter's sea bass was brought out with potatoes rather than the risotto that was listed and had to be sent back. The server was very nice and prompt in providing the correct plate. Service was friendly and the honey coated bisquits did not hurt matters. If I'm ever in Kansas City again, I would definitely return.
