“Great for business travel/meeting”

Embassy Suites Chicago O'Hare Rosemont

4 of 5 stars
Illinois
Mar 27, 2007

Stayed here for two nights while attending a meeting hosted at the hotel. I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet it was for an Embassy Suites. It did not have the usual echo from the atrium noise below, nor did it have unsupervised children roaming about at all hours.
The parking valet and reception staff were prompt and courteous. The rooms were extremely clean and looked as if though they had recently undergone a renovation. The bed was very comfortable and had plenty of pillows. The room a/c did not work the first night, it was extremely hot. After informing the front desk, they fixed it right away and it was fine.
Our group of 30 had dinner at the restaurant and it was also surprisingly delicious and service was great. All entrees from the duck to the prime rib received rave reviews.
For those with an event at the convention center, it is conveniently located just across the street. And you can easily reach O'Hare airport with the hotel shuttle.
If you're looking for a place to eat outside of the hotel, our group also went to Ram Restaurant and Brewery on Higgins, not to far from the hotel. The beer, food and service was a great deal.

“Pleasantly surprised”

Embassy Suites Chicago O'Hare Rosemont

Morton Grove
Feb 26, 2007

My family and I stayed at the Embassy Suites Rosemont on a Saturday night in mid February to attend the RV camping show. We had stayed here previously a couple of years ago during Easter break. We were pleasantly surprised to see the hotel decked out in new furniture and new carpeting in the rooms. It was an unexpected yet welcomed site. The kids enjoyed the pool, but the hot tub was not "hot", in fact not even warm... we didn't spend much time in it. The front office staff was courteous and we skipped the manager's reception. Breakfast was okay, the lines were busy and the "trays" were all gone by the time we got there, however we pushed the cooks to make pancakes and they were accomodating. Overall, we'll be back again as it is close and convenient.

“Hotel was nice but employees were dishonest”

Embassy Suites Chicago O'Hare Rosemont

2 of 5 stars
Beavercreek, Ohio
Dec 6, 2006

We loved the hotel. It had a great buffet breakfast and the rooms were spacious and clean.

However, ..... when we arrived we had some problems with the person checking us in. I paid by check card before I arrived. The money was taken out and cleared more than three weeks prior to our arrival date. The attendant insisted that we should pay by check and we would be refunded the money to our credit card. When I asked to speak with a manager about it we were given keys right away and heard no more insisting that we pay again by check.

We had no more problems until checkout when our bill arrived and we had calls made from our room while we were out. The auditor that I called from the room said they would be taken off by the manager if he believed me. I called him, explained that I have numerous shopping receipts from that day on the Loop 20 miles away, and he said he would check the entries into our room during our stay to determine if we made the calls or someone else did. The calls were taken off and we didn't have to pay the $40. The front desk attendant who checked us out laughingly informed us that probably it was just the maid. This made me uncomfortable about having my things in the room, but the trip was over and we had had a great time so we left without further ado.

Oh well. Never again.

“Perfectly Fine”

Embassy Suites Chicago O'Hare Rosemont

Dec 1, 2006

We stayed in this hotel for three days just before Thanksgiving. We are a family of five and we were visiting relatives in Des Plaines. The room was spacious enough for all of us and was newly renovated. The hotel is going to be renovating all of its rooms during 2007 per an exhibit located in the lobby. This hotel is located directly across from the convention center and is right next to a public parking garage that is also used by at least two other hotels. It was fairly quiet during the time we were there so we didn't hear much noise from other patrons. The breakfast was a typical Embassy Suites buffet breakfast, which consists of scrambled eggs, french toast, baon, sausage, and potatoes. You could also order an omelette. Also available were a limited selection of cold cereals, yogurt, fruit, and bagels/pastries. Plentiful coffee, tea, and juice. We did not try the restaurant. The area has many local dining choices in the vicinity so don't feel confined to the hotel for dining. The pool area was adequate, but be warned that there are no "formal" locker rooms and the rinsing showers are unisex, and wide open. There is a good sized hot tub. Starbucks is on premises in the lobby and there is a bar. Nightly manager's reception is just what the doctor ordered...Overall would definitely recommend this hotel.

+Stayed here four years ago and it exceeded our expectations then....but not this time...

-Complimentary breakfast was cold two days out of four days and coffee was third rate.

-Room was poorly ventilated, had a smell of cooking(over the kitchen) and in room iron had a sharp edge(dropped by a previous guest) which damaged shirts.(mentioned this to indifferent front desk staff)

-Wine and mixed Drinks at managers reception were the cheapest available.(stick to beer)

+Exercise room was nice, well equipped and clean.

- But pool area and water looked pretty dirty.

+ Dinner was good every night.

- Walkway to parking ($18 a day) smelled of strongly of vomit for at least two days.

+Great proximity to convention center
