We stayed there August 15-18 on the 4th floor. The musty odor was quite noticeable in the hallway and our room seemed very humid . The next morning at the other end of the hall we noticed fans were placed in the hallway and men appeared to be doing something inside of the rooms that looked like carpet cleaning equipment. The rest of our stay the odor and humidity were not as prominent.

After reading the posts here I felt confident that I made the right decision for my family to stay here. Don't get me wrong, the hotel itself is very well taken care of, the pool, the lobby, the exercise room, laundry, etc. The only problem I had was the musty moldy smell in our room. It is such a smack in the face as the hallways smell so nice of air fresheners, but when you open that room door, wow. Maybe it was just my room, not sure, but that was my only concern with this hotel.

After being totally disgusted with Adam's attitude at Hibiscus Suites, I looked around for a good hotel and came across Country Inn and Suites and WE ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT... My husband, 15 month old and I stayed there for 3 nights, 4 days and had no complaints whatsover. They have a great complimentary breakfast every morning, waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, hot/cold cereal, coffee, bagels, yogurt etc...
The staff is so friendly and accomodating, the hotel is clean, clean clean which is huge for us especially with a baby. Definitely the best hotel we've stayed at in a while for that price, it's a jewel in Sarasota!

We stayed here for 3 nights, 28th -31st May 07.
We booked it on the strength of the good reviews on tripadvisor & we were very pleased to find they were all true.

The hotel is a great find at a good rate. We paid $119 per night for a 2 room king suite, breakfast included.

The whole place was spotlessly clean & very well maintained. Our suite was bigger than expected with a huge bed & double sofa bed. TV in lounge & bedroom.

There was a good size fridge, a microwave and coffee making facilities. Only downside, no kettle to warm water for our morning tea, (we are Brits!) Also no spoons. We asked the maid and she got some for us. Also asked for another blanket & this was supplied within 10 minutes.
The maid service was really good & the rooms were well serviced & cleaned every morning.
Shampoo, conditioner, soap supplied but no bath caps.
The notice in the room said that if you have forgotten any toiletries, please ask at reception & they will supply them free of charge. A nice touch.
Another nice touch was the basket of apples in the reception area plus in the evening free chocolate chip cookies.

Breakfast was standard fare, cereals, juice, coffee, toast, yogurt, bagels, muffins & hot fresh waffles. Also scrambled eggs, bacon & sausages.

Check in/out was easy, no lines or hassles. Both took minutes.

A great find at an excellent rate if you don't mind being away from the beaches.
