Great place to stay for the money. Can't beat being on Disney property. Room was quite adequate, bed comfortable, food court good, pools nice. We were in the 50's section and have no complaints at all.

stayed in the 80s section dec 15-19, 4th floor. no complaints at all, paid $77/night [made res in sept 05]. Rooms quiet, clean, beds firm, VERY clean complex, they washed walkways every day I belive. Recommend the $12 refillable cups if you will be there 3 or more days. Good hot morning coffee in the dining area. Fast service for the number of people they served. Some food items were big enough we just split them and we both were full when done. Check in fast-7 minutes or so, good tv, pool nice and warm, we just slept there and the rest of the time at the parks, shopping, pool, etc..great value for familes with kids. hope disney always keeps a section like this at a resonable rate. security was good as you had to have access card to drive in. Over all we were very, very pleased. Would stay again anytime.

“Great holiday location”

Disney's Pop Century Resort

Stayed here from 7 to 28 July 2005 with 2 adults and 2 kids (12 & 4). We had 21 nights in the hotel and found it ok. We were in the 90's building and probably one of the furthest rooms from the dining block but it was not a problem. I enjoyed the 1/2 hour it took to walk there and back every day to get drinks and some breakfast while the kids slept or played in the pool. I like to people watch and enjoyed meeting the different people from all over the place. The laundry room was a nice place to get to talk to different people and I spent a lot of time in there with washing to keep us clothed for 3 weeks. I never heard noise from the next door rooms or from outside and we were so far from the pool that the noise never reached us. The one thing that made me irate wherever I went is smoking. Can smokers appreciate that not everyone in the world wants to die from the carcenogenic fumes produced from cigarettes. I kept moving at Blizzard Beach due to the smokers on the non-smoking beach!!! How rude and ignorant are some people. One guy smoked outside my room because he didn't want the fumes to reach his kids but it was ok to poison mine. He moved very quickly when asked to!! Non-smokers beware there is nowhere you can escape from the dreaded cancer stick in Florida as their laws do not yet prevenrt smoking in public places and most people seem to smoke there.
We had clean towels almost every day and that was because we were trying to save on the washing and worked with the hotel. Enough soap/shampoo to open a shop but no hairdryer until I asked (twice). The security is great and no matter how many times you drive in/out of the resort and the guard gets to know you, you still have to produce your car pass. Cheaper motels on the I Drive don not provide this essential service. I was able to let my kids walk around to the pool on their own as I knew they were safe at this resort. There are always loads of pool attendants on duty but they leave at 11pm which is not too smart as this can be the busiest time of day. I had to complain about the pool attendants ignoring the safety of one unsupervised 5 year old at 11:10pm and the hotel manager addressed my concerns (as well as hearing me moan on about smokers). Buses are useful bur too full at night and the bus stop too far away from the park entrance/exits. The "Magic Hour" pass is great but not too useful with young kids. Seemed surreal to be riding "It's a Small World" at 1.45am with 2 kids! The buses allowed my husband and I to do our own thing with him and our son going fishing at Cocoa Beach and my 4 year old daughter and I seeing the princesses. My daughter still asks to go on "Goofy Barnstormer" every day. One of my best memories is seeing her face when she saw Ariel and the other princesses whom she adores. We visited every Disney Park and loads of other Orlando attractions and for me Disney is always the best but for older kids Universal gives the "big" rides they love so much. The Disney shows are amazing, especially "Fantasmic" which we had to stand for. We will return in 2007 and get front row seats for this one. Epcot fireworks are amazing and the parades as fabulous as ever. This was my second trip and this was even more magical than the first. It has given me the opportunity to talk to my kids about our trip every day and their faces still light up at the memories of our magical time there. I may stay at a villa next time just for space but the options provided by Disney may well be too tempting. I would stay here again if I couldn't afford to stay at the other resorts. This 3 week trip cost £9000 or $15300 so that little bit extra may be a bit too far but we will try for the Caribbean Beach as friends have said it is great. One day I will get to the Grand Floridian (if I sell my house - who says it wouldn't be worth it - ha ha). Thank you Disney for a fabulous holiday and long long lasting memories

“Days Inn Quality for Marriot Prices”

Disney's Pop Century Resort

Dec 14, 2005

We have stayed at most on-property locations at Disney World, from the high-end to the value resorts. While the decor is cute, the prices at Pop Century are just plain not worth the value that you get. Expect:

- long walks from parking lot to rooms
- long line-ups for everything from check-in to check-out
- tiny rooms
- hoards of people everywhere you turn
- paper thin walls
- uncomfortable, hard beds
- total lack of customer service

We paid the extra money for a "preferred king" and when we got to our room, we had a handicapped room with no bathtub and the bed on the floor - we were not told this when checking in. Calling front desk got us a call center somewhere, not even at our hotel. We went to the front desk and after standing in line again for 25min, went through three people - our clerk, the rooms supervisor and the assistant front desk manager. We were totally dismissed and incredibly, were told that non-handicapped rooms are by request only and that this would be our room, period. No offer of anything else, not even so much as an apology.

Be prepared to get little sleep, you can hear normal conversations in the rooms next-door, every sound outside your door and can hear pretty much every toilet in the building every time they flush.

You could pay 1/2 the price for the same quality off-property, or for a similar price could get a 4 star off property that includes breakfast and transportation. Better yet, pay the extra few dollars and stay at a moderate priced on-property resort - the difference in quality is astounding.

Pop Century is nothing more than a glorified motel with high prices and it's a shame to have the Disney name on it.

“Had a great time!”

We stayed at Pop Century Nov. 26-30th. We took advantage of the value rates plus FL resident discount rates. It was all decorated for Christmas very nicely. We came up for the Very Merry Christmas party at MK, plus hit the other parks. ENjoyed our stay in 70s. Good location facing the kids play area. Our son is 2 1/2 and loved the pools, Goofy water area, kids meals in the food court (not too expensive) and play area.

The rooms are quite small and it is fairly noisy as other reviews have said. I wouldn't want to stay in one of the rooms right outside the main pool. You do get what you pay for, but it was a nice place with an excellent staff. It was great to stay on Disney property and save time traveling to and from the parks. We drove ourselves and had free parking since we were staying on property - that is $9 a day right there.

The food court was neat, but very loud and cold. We ate there for breakfast twice and lunch once. I had a kids breakfast both times. We got one Pop mug and shared. We definately got our money's worth.

Have fun and Happy Holidays!
