I stayed for a week in June.

The hotel is in an excellent location. You can walk to Universal Studios, City Walk and Islands of Adventures in less than 10 minutes.

Your room key is also your Express Pass for the rides in the park meaning you have a much shorter line than everyone else.

The rooms are just okay. Everything was clean but the bathrooms are outdated and need to be remodeled.

There are a few towers so depending which one you are staying in you may have to walk a lot. I would recommend tower 3, which is close to the pool, Emeril's place, and the water taxi (which you can also take to CityWalk and Universal instead of walking).

The pool is large with plenty of chairs and umbrellas.
Pool service was quick and someone was always around to take your food/bar order.

There is a kiddie pool but they happen to all be in the adult pool.

I would recommend the Emeril's and the Island if you are eating at the hotel.

The check in was fast but they gave us the wrong rate as we where with a group, they later changed us to the right rate without a problem. Now the romm was on the 4 floor tower four now here when it gets good .The safe and T.V did not work which they fix for us fast and when we returned from the pool that night to take a shower our bath tub was full of yellow fluid which look like urine. The Hotel sent up someone to clean the tub about 45 min. later and two phone calls after,it was so dirty the lady had to change the shower curtain.
Pool-It was OK, a little crowed and the food at the bar hut was OK a Little slow.
Emrils Tuchop Rest-This was the best food I have tasted in a long time and very reasonable priced.
The best thing about this resort is that the Expressed pass at universal is inculed with your room key.

“Good choice!”

Royal Pacific Resort

Jun 2, 2008

My husband and I went to the Royal Pacific for a long weekend getaway. Although a little over our budget, we thought that there were many advantages in staying at this location. For one, it's part of the Universal Resorts, so your room key serves as an "express pass", which typically costs an additional $25 if purchased at the park. The most we ever waited for a ride was 10 minutes. The hotel was clean and the service was excellent everywhere.
If you have a car, take a stroll to the outlet malls nearby (We asked the concierge for directions and he gave us a great coupon booklet!).
Our only complaint was the parking situation. You pay $14/day for self parking, and the lot is packed. It took forever to find a spot, so we had to upgrade to valet parking, which costs $20/day!
We took a stroll to the other 2 Loews Hotels, and felt in love with the Portofino. If you can afford the extra $$$, stay there. The pool was beautiful, not a lot of kids; live Italian music at the piazza every night.

“Universal Studios Family Vacation”

We stayed at Royal Pacific for three nights. It was absolutely wonderful. The service was fantastic. I recommend to go on the Loewes webpage and join their Loewes first membership. You will get priority checking and a gift for yourself or your child. We were sick and they helped us contact the local Walgreens and get our prescription delivered to the hotel. The pool is wonderful, very kid friendly. You can take the water taxi to the parks or a nice beautiful walk to the park and can even get a lift from a bicycle. The fact that your room tickets gets you Fast Pass is wonderful. We didn't stand in any line. It is so worth it. I plan on going back and recommending it to anyone!! We also ate at Emeril's restuarant on location. It was worth every penny!!!

“Bad trip!”

My son, his girlfriend and I stayed at the this resort from May 25-May 29, 2008; this was my third trip here so obviusly I like the place. Our troubles began from check in, we got there early, 1:00, and were told check in was 4:00 but they would try to accomodate us. The asked for my cell # and said they would call. By 5:00 nothing so I called and was told- not yet. At 6:00 I called again- nothing yet so we decided to go back and check in person- we already had our room keys, but no information on the room, and we had the park passes so we had been at the parks. We waited in the lobby and finally got our room at 7:30! My son and his girlfriend's keys never properly worked for the door so the second night my son went down to complain. We were told we could be moved from Tower I 5th floor to the 6th floor. By the time he returned to the room housekeeping was in our room asking why we were there and then the manager on duty called to check when we were moving- jeez give us 10 minutes to move! We moved and the room was nice. At 8:30 am on the morning of check out hosekeeping again came in- unannouced and said when are you leaving? We were given a 4:00 check. For the most part the resort was nice enough but not a very pleasant experience. The parks were great and the Express Passes are a great plus!
