Had a very nice seafood dinner at A Fish Called Avalon. Food was very good, but service was not. Waited a long time between appetizer and salad. We sat inside because of the heat, maybe that was the reason. The outside part was packed but the inside had only a few tables going. Outside of that would recommned it for seafood lovers.

the Florida Snapper Au Poiver was amazing. It was spicy, just like the scenery walking by our table.
Great place to people watch.
Great wine list.
Great service.
Great food.
Expensive prices but just right for a spoiled (and casual) evening on the town.

Had dinner at A Fish called Avalon last week. We were extremely disappointed. This restaurant is over-rated & over priced. I found the waiters to be condescending & snooty. The food was average---nothing to write home about. Our fish was not well-cooked & the taste was uninspiring. I would not return to this establishment nor would I recommend it to others.

We were in South Beach for a week this month and had dinner at A fish Called Avalon twice!
It is wonderfull.
The lobster is out of this world. The salad they have with the warm mushrooms on top (can't remember what it was called) was so good that you could just eat it and be happy.
The drinks are good and the setting is romantic.
You have to try it if you visit South Beach.
