I had hoped that the Sheraton brand would live up to my expectations based on past stays. While I had a decent enough stay at the Miami Mart, it is begging for makeover. On the night I arrived, I was not given a key to my room, and on the first day of my stay, I had to enlist the aid of a bellman each time that I needed to enter my room because the digital key card machine had malfunctioned. After a long day's travel and some nighttime obligations, I headed to my room around midnight, disrobed, and entered the bathroom to shower, only to find a clogged tub with standing water in it. Since they could not fix the problem that evening, I was moved up to the club floor to another room, which was underwhelming to say the list. Actually, the standard room with the bad tub had a better feel than this one. Still, I remained. The rooms did not smell very fresh, and I discovered blood stains on the light switches in my bathroom. Finally, unless you have a car or don't mind eating daily in the hotel restaurant, this hotel is not the place to be. The closest eateries are about 20-25 minutes away in walking distance. Still, the Sheraton can boast about its comfy beds, and I did sleep like a queen. For the price charged, though, I'd consider other hotels.
