“A+ Family Fun”

A great family trip. The tour starts as you enter the reserve with almost all animals free roaming. This means to expect close encounters. Rhinos may in fact cross in front of your car and an ostrich at your window looking in!

The lions are now enclosed in a pen you drive around. But, years ago they were open and you if crazy enough could get out and touch them! They have rangers always stationed near the lions should someone get out of the vehicles in procession.

Then after you do the loop which is around a mile or two? The park is a nice quaint family with kids scene a water playground, a few kiddie rides. A paddle boat dock, boat tours on a pontoon, and a petting zoo as well.

***TIPS***
I suggest early morning hours to see some animals on safari they do hide up in the hot Florida heat. Then by noon you should have plenty of time for the water playground if you have some small kids! Do not forget sunscreen and a suit as well perhaps under your child's clothes.

Last I knew you could get a second round in the park for free. Take one more tour around if your not too tired! Happy Zooing!

“Can't Travel to Africa? Go to Lion Country Safari!”

Lion Country Safari

We loved it! Even our two teenagers who take a lot to get them excited enjoyed Lion Country Safari. If you stay at the KOA (KOA site gives you free tickets to the park) which is right next door you will hear the Lions ROAR! No kidding! I was walking my dog and the lions started roaring, and she couldn't get back to the RV quick enough. Each morning we woke up to the roar of lions! The drive through the park puts you right in the middle of all kinds of animals, it is amazing. You really feel like you are on an African Safari. My kids can't wait to go back! The amusement park is more for young children ages 2 - 10yrs., but still worth it for all ages.

“Wild and wonderful”

Lion Country Safari

Here is a jewel that doesn't lose it's luster.

The park was established as a place for Americans to get up close and personal with wildlife from around the world in a safe, well managed environment tended by people who provide extraordinary care for the world's vanishing wildlife populations. Here the people are in captivity as they drive at a snail's pace through the several compounds where animals live a natural existance.

Timid creatures are encouraged to come right to the side of the roadway where they are fed which provides each car-bound visitor spectacular photo opportunities. More aggressive animals are permitted to roam freely with the certain knowledge that the invading vehicles will not harm them. Only the lions are separeted from visitors behind a fence but that modification was made only because some tourists got out of their cars to capture better pictures. All the animals at Lion Country Safari are very well fed and maintained in a helthy condition. The animals have learned to tolerate the vehicles and to trust that their every need will be closely monitored.

The cost of admission is a tremendous value at only $22 per adult - far less than might be expected for such a terrific experience. The best part, of course, is that nothing is fake. These are real, exotic creatures who are allowed to live the way nature had intended for them.

Children are of special interest to the park, also. Several attractions, distractions and events are provided to completely exhaust each kid with visions and experiences they will remember all their lives.

Concessions, of course, are quite pricey but there are many alternatives available for even the most restricted budget.

When in the West Palm Beach area Lion Country Safari is an absolute "must".

“A Roaring Good Time!”

Took a day trip with my girlfriend from Ft. Lauderdale and had a great time. The animals were very outgoing and friendly, not the usual sedated wildlife that you sometimes encounter on theme-park safaris. We had close encounters with an ostrich (who we thought was going to attack the car) as well as a giraffe.

The theme park area itself is a nice touch and contrast to the drive-thru safari and features a few different shows, petting zoo, mini-golf, etc. The area is very clean and well maintained. I definitely look forward to coming back the next time I am in Florida.

“Great place for families”

We just went to Lion Country Safari this past weekend. My two sons, ages 4 and 9, had a great time! The safari is great - and during cooler weather, the animals are so active. We had close encounters with rhinos and giraffes. We also had an onstrich come right up to the car and start pecking on the glass! The zebras and antelope were very playful on this trip as well! The walk through park, Safari World, has things for everyone. As an added bonus, there are amusement rides, a water play area, paddle boats, and miniature golf at no additional fee. The only add'l expenses we incurred were for purchasing food for the animals. It cost $1 for a large portion of animal feed at the petting zoo, and $2 to feed the giraffes! My kids loved feeding the giraffes! For those who like a little more adventure (such as ourselves), there is a KOA campground right next door. Very clean campground with lots to do. And waking up to the lions roaring was a pretty awesome experience. We will definitely be returning.
