I recently stayed 3 days at the Islander hotel during their slow season in May. Despite arranging for a late check out I recieved numerous calls to my room asking me to leave and was confronted by an angry supervisor when I left on time as arranged at 1 pm. In my hurry I left a bathingsuit behind. After several unreturned calls I contacted the GM who assured me it had been mailed to my home the week prior. After one month and no suit I called again and was told they never found the suit even though I called 2 hours after I left, before the room was cleaned. They seem confused and not customer oriented at all.

My husband loves this place so much we return every year for 3 weeks. It is excellent value for money; the staff are great, the rooms satisfactory and the setting lovely. I would highly recommend it.

While in Miami for a week we decided on a whim to spend a few nights on the keys. Someone in our group had stayed here before so we dropped in to check rates and stayed 2 nights at $105/nt!. My husband and I live & work in the resort industry and have fairly strong expectations. When we want to vacation - we want a beautiful enviroment that allows us to relax with high quality ammenities. This mini resort is fabulous and blew my socks off for the price. The pools are better than some small Mexico resorts I have been to, the bar/
restaurant has great drinks, good high quality food, and the rooms although simple - feel new, clean and offer all of the comforts of home with mini kitchens. Beds were really comfortable and the attached screened in porch was killer for relaxing at happy hour. Just across the street in the legendary waterfront Laura Li (Sp?) outdoor sunset bar/restaurant with the best Pina Colada I have ever had - trust me, live music and decent food. If you are looking for a relaxing weekend getaway - this is the place. I could not say enough about this hotel. Even the continental breakfast was impressive. For the keys - I give this 5 stars.

We only stayed one night at this hotel on our way to Key West, but it was fantastic. The rooms were cleam, albeit simple, but they had a TV and a kitchenette, clean linens, and an incredible view. There is a nice little screen porch or 3 seasons room attached, which we almost locked ourselves out by...oops.

the beach was mostly empty, but it was absolutely postcard perfect, with a nice private pier to walk out on, and a swimming area. There were also 2 pools, one freshwater and one salt, and I believe a hot tub.

Breakfast in the morning was simple but good enough.
