I wanted to let everyone know this hotel differs from what is advertised on the hotels.com web site. First, they say that all 222 rooms have balconies with views. They don't. My room looked out on a wall. I noticed during my stay that the hotel was mostly empty but when I asked if I could switch to a room with a view, I was told "no" because I booked through hotels.com.

Also, the hotel advertises a beach. This is a very liberal use of the word "beach". It is a 30 foot (approx.) stretch of shoreline that someone dropped some sand on at the end of the piece of land the hotel sits on.

The hotel itself is nice. The rooms are well appointed but not "spacious" as is stated on the web site. The staff was nice and the concierge was helpfull. The restaurant is very pricey, we chose to eat elsewhere. It is on a very busy street and several times it took us several minutes to get onto the street with our car.

The three star rating that hotels.com gives it is pretty accurate but the one review on the hotels.com web site gives it a five star and that is just not accurate. It is a three star at best and it is too pricey for a three star hotel.

They spared no expense in the building of this hotel.
I'm a travel agent and I've seen a lot of resorts, but this
one is top flight for the price. Every detail was carefully
thought out, from the door knobs, window and floor
treatments to the mirrors, furniture and flat screen, top
of the line tv and dvd player. Our room was basic and
small, but it was so comfortable and charming, with
beautiful mahogany furniture! And the bed!?! I hated
to get up in the morning because the bed and pillows
were so comfortable! The bathroom was beautiful, with
granite and marble and a beautiful mirror. Some of the
other rooms have state of the art kitchens and other first
class amenities. The restaurant was very nicely decorated
and the bar had a dim, comfortable feel. The outside
courtyard area was so nice, with a tiki bar, private small
beach, nice swimming pool, jacuzzi, including outside
beds and hammocks! Wow! We sat out in the courtyard
at night and watched the moon sparkle over the water and
I was so glad that I chose this quant hotel to experience for
my clients and to enjoy with my 16 year old daughter. The
staff were a little curt, but I won't hold that against them in
this review or in referring my clients to the hotel. Good job, Beachside!

I've been to Key West about 5 times. Stayed in different spots, but nothing like this!
My handsome Igor works his charm at the front desk and I can't wait to see him!!!
The place is beautiful! + the sun seems to ALWAYS be shining on that hotel, even if its been raining on Duval.
Cant wait to be out of the damn Canadian cold and back in the heat of Key West! (+ my boo's arms!!)
