“Good find!”

After a LOT of comparing and study, we chose Albury Court because it was close to the ferry terminal, the Harborwalk and Duval Street. We took the KeyWest Express ferry into town from Ft. Myers beach and spent a great three days sans car!

Albury Court's staff was very nice and friendly. Our room was nicely decorated and outfitted. The bathroom toiletries were top notch.

The room was somewhat small (Queen Std.), but the bathroom was very comfortable. Very clean and very quiet too!

We will definitely stay at this location for each upcoming visit to Key West.

“Modern B&B with charm”

Albury Court

THE GOOD:
•Suite – just as depicted on the hotel website. Our suite was a traditional room with queen size bed and fireplace; very modern, clean and decent size for 2 adults @ $139/night
•Bed - extremely comfortable, firm mattress with fluffy pillows. Carpet and tile floor - immaculate
•A/C - that sucker was something fierce. It worked like a charm (our room was an icebox upon arriving which suited us just fine for the heat in Aug!).
•Flat screen LCD TV - perfect size including cable
•Mini-wine chiller / refrigerator - was perfect to keep a bottle a wine, some fruits, cheese and snacks you may bring along on your trip down to the keys
•Lighting - large windows enough to allow a lot of natural light during the day and bright halogen lighting for nights
•Bathroom - ultra clean and spacious with good size shower stall
•Closet – standard size with Iron and board and electronic safe inside.
•Waterfall Pool – very clean; definitely a splash pool like the ones you see at a spa (you can’t dive or do laps!) but it’s good enough to cool off and lounge in for an hour
•Continental Breakfast – served every morning between 8:30-10am by the pool. Many offerings including fresh bagels, English muffins, fruit, yogurt, toast, tea, coffee, orange juice – just enough to start your day!
•Front Desk Staff - Polite, courteous and helpful. Abby your service was second to none! We had to push our reservation back a night and the staff was helpful and accommodating to our unforeseen delay.

THE BAD:
•Having inherited high standards for hotel accommodations from my mother (who worked in hotel management for 25 yrs) I was hard pressed to find fault with anything at Albury Court. Our only issue was having to walk across the street to a sister hotel (Budget Key West I think?) to use the ice machine (there is none on the property) and a couple microscopic ants around the bar sink (the only reason we could see them is because the counter was black marble otherwise you'd never notice. Not a big enough issue to spoil our stay).
•Noise - overall a very quite property with little to no street noise at night. With the exception of a few loud talking guests in the courtyard between 2-3am (returned from Duval Street festival Sat night) the overall noise level was minimal.
•Parking - a bit of a challenge - my recommendation is that once you find one leave you car there for the duration of your stay and travel by foot. Duval Street is about a 15min walk away which is where all the action is. Alternatively, there is a parking garage about a 1.5 blocks away for $13 USD. Be mindful of local parking regulations or you WILL get towed (i.e. where permit / local resident only signs or yellow curbs are indicated). The streets are SMALL so it made it was sometimes difficult to maneuver during high traffic mid-day (most residents / tourist travel by scooter, motorcycle or bicycle for this reason; less hassle). We will definitely rent a scooter when we visit next year.
•Dining Out – Be prepared to spend $$$. A few restaurants were a bit too pricey for what they actually served and we audibly heard more than a few complaints from other patrons while dining. I think it comes down to a matter of priority. If minimal spending is key stick to your average Wendy’s or Outback. If you’re looking to explore your taste buds, then ask for referrals to get the best meal for your buck. When in doubt, there is a Mc Donald’s and Wendy’s within driving distance! lol

THE UGLY:
•Absolutely none! We will definitely be returning to Albury Court in 2008 (most likely with family and booking several additional rooms) as this is now our accommodation of choice in Key West!
•The price was right (we booked through Expedia at $321 for Fri& Sat night stay). Compared to other chain hotels in the area (Radisson etc...) this small Inn beat them out hands down for price and quality.
•We were close enough to all the action of Duval Street yet far enough away to get a peaceful night’s sleep without the fuss of crowds and noise.
•We highly recommend this hotel to those couples (young or old) seeking romantic escape and relaxation with the option of entertainment nearby.

“No Problem, Loved It & Will Return”

No problems with anything. Desk staff suggested & guided us where to park for FREE with the off street parking & found availablity. Room was very clean, bathroom of decent size, nice walk in glass enlcosed shower & yes, the grout is a bit dark from mildew stains, but I myself live in Florida & know it is impossible to keep grout WHITE all the time. It is the subtropics. Breakfast was coffee, juice, muffins, pastries & fruit, nothing spectacular, but enough to carry you over until you eat a meal somewhere else later. Small pool, but nice. Our room was upstairs in back area, heard some noise, but nothing major & a/c running off/on helped to cut the sound. Walked to Duval, several times & Turtle Kraals: all convenient. Adults only & non smoking in all rooms, but smoking is allowed in outside areas. We will stay here again!!

“Cute but small”

Albury Court

Jul 23, 2007

I read plenty of reviews on TripAdvisor about hotels in Key West and chose this one because the price fit in our budget. The best thing I can think of is that the room was clean and the front desk was mostly helpful when asking questions about where to eat/what to see and do. I knew the room was going to be small, but it was, in fact, TINY. By the time we set our luggage down there was barely enough room to get from the bed to the bathroom. Let's just say it made for an interesting obstacle to the bathroom in the middle of the night! All in all, it is not a bad place to stay if you only need a place to lay your head at night and nothing more.

“Modern B&B”

Albury Court

4 of 5 stars
Nashville, Tennessee
Jun 19, 2007

Albury Court is one of the most modern and corporate properties owned by Historic Key West Inns, its parent company. The small swimming pool is large enough to cool off and swim a few laps while enjoying the soothing mosaic waterfall. The joined cottages making up
the property are newly refurbished in a whitewashed beach house motif
conjuring New England seaside cottages with a modern decorative flair. A glass-fronted mini-fridge and granite-topped wet bar are some of the room’s amenities, along with real glassware and a coffee maker. Free in-room wireless Internet, hard to find in Key West, can also be enjoyed from a comfy seat in the courtyard garden by the pool. The staff was less than warm but efficient. Location was great for harborside access to restaurants and shops. The property is located in one of Key West’s most impressive residential areas, great for walking any time of day or night. With only street parking available, guests may have to walk several blocks back to the inn after finding a spot. Many of the street parking sections are for residents only, so be on guard for signs indicating such. But the walk back to the Albury is so pretty, visitors probably won’t mind. If you end up staying in this part of Key West, it’s unlikely you’ll need a car at all.
