My husband and I visited Key West in April and had a lovely time. Eating at El Siboney was one of the high points of our trip. This is one of the best restaurants I've been to, as far as food goes! The food is absolutely amazing! It is Cuban cuisine and everybody can find something for themselves. We loved it so much we ate there two nights in a row, although initially, we'd planned on exploring different restaurants of Key West.
My dinner started with a lovely split peas soup, which was delicious. It was followed by grouper for me and shaved beef for my husband and we couldn't agree which one was better. The fish was fresh, seasoned to perfection and super delicious. But they saved the best for last - we just could not get enough of their key lime pie! This is the real thing! You must try it, I can guarantee you will not forget it.
This is a family run restaurant, servers are polite and very efficient. The prices are more than reasonable, on both occasions we ate there, we ended up paying less than $50.00 for two, tax and tip included.
Eating at El Siboney is a must if you visit Key West. It is a little further away from Duval Street, but that's exactly what we wanted, I did not like the hustle and bustle and crowds there. Trust me, the walk is more than worth it. The restaurant gets busy, so better come early. The only (and very minor) downside is don't expect white table cloths and romantic atmosphere - this is a place that is about food and they do deliver!
