After reading numerous reviews on Trip Advisor, I booked two nights at the Ocean Breeze Inn for my husband and me. Let me start out by saying our accommodations in the "Cozy Queen" Room 25 were CLEAN. I had read so many negative reviews about experiences in the Keys with rodents, bugs, etc., that cleanliness was my top priority. The OBI is CLEAN. I checked with other guests who verified that their rooms were indeed top on the cleanliness scale as well. Looked like the walls had been recently painted. Linens were crisp and clean. Okay, that said, our room was extremely small. There was a queen bed with one night stand - not much room on either side of the bed. There was a small square table, two chairs and a small refrig & microwave opposite the bed, but there wasn't really room enough to sit at the table. The bathroom was proprotionately larger. Nice large shower, hanging rod for clothes and a suitcase stand. 3-drawer wicker dresser with glass top with ample space for toiletries, etc. Hair dryer provided. Plenty of light in both areas. Ample towels and pool towels provided. Ah, the pool... this has to be the smallest in-ground pool we've ever seen... a sign posted at the pool area stated that the "maximum occupancy" was 8 people! Several lounge chairs provided. But again... all was clean and well maintained. The 4 round tables with umbrellas served as seating for the continental breakfast. Breakfast was just sweet rolls, muffins, juice, coffee, cereal, milk, fresh fruit. "Philip" also placed a coffee maker in our room as I had requested. Each room has a parking space... We never moved the car until we left the island. The hotel rents bikes for $15.00 a day and I highly recommend getting around the town this way. Parking down by Mallory Square, Duvall Street, etc. varies from $4/hr to $35/day... if you can find a space! The rental bikes are in good shape, have a roomy basket and the hotel provides a substantial lock. Plenty of bike racks around Key West. We paid $233/night... not what you would expect for that price but Kew West is very PRICEY. Remember it is small... but we really didn't spent much time in the room. The 5 rooms in back of the main building, have small decks... that's where I had my moring coffee before the breakfast was ready and where I read.
