The Weather Station Inn is a wonderful hotel. It is not cheep, but altogether it gives good value for the money. The inn is vary small (I believe that there are only four rooms on the first floor), but each room is vary spacey. The pool was very small and I didn’t use it. It was better to go to the beach nearby (at the nearby Fort Tyron reserve) – the beach cost 2$ to enter (the inn's concierge forgot to mention that we need to bring the money with us). The beach is 10 minutes walk from the inn. It is better to view the sunset from the beach than from Malory Square with the crowd.
The inn serves a wonderful breakfast of pies, orange juice, tropical fruits, croissants and cakes. There is no dining room so one can either eat by the pool (or – if it rains, as it did one day while I was staying there – inside the room).
I have seen two rooms – the banana sun room and the artisan room and both were very nice (I preferred the first). Each room has a huge bad, television and a nice shower (no bath tub). The shampoo and conditioner provided where great (coconut shampoo and mango conditioner).
The inn is located one!! Minute walk from Truman Little White House (it is literally next door)), five minutes from Malory Square and the Mel Fisher Museum, and 15 minute walks from Hemingway's House. It is situated in a nice turn of the century building giving you the feeling you area guest visiting a southern manor house.
The hotel is within the gated Truman Annex – so you get a key for the gates to leave the premises at night.
