This was a last minute booking and we should have stayed some place else but... Our stay was for 3 nights and our room was on the second floor over looking the "clothes optional" deck. Hey we are in Key West after all, but if you have issues with this do not stay in room 24 or 25. The rate was $199.00 per night and that is very reasonable by Key West standards. You get what you pay for. The rooms are very, very small, the beds are hard as stones unless you are planning to drink your way through the day you won't mind this. There are NO frills here folks the room are bare of anything. There is no room for you toiletries AT ALL. It is clean but don't look too close. There is no water presure to speak of by the way, so be patient. This property was built in 1891 or 1905 I'm not quite sure, the only thing I know is that is has not been painted at all since then. So don't look for beauty here. IT NEEDS FIXING UP alot of it. They don't know what TLC stands for. Also if you plan to walk anywhere be sure to wear comfortable shoes because this property is very farway from both sides of the island. Duval is 2 blocks but everything else is 10 blocks away. There are positives here: the staff is around but I never saw them so guess they are nice, the pool is very, very nice do bring bug repelent if you decided to stay after dusk, the continental breakfast is good and the coffee is great. Like I said there other places to stay. The mistake we made was booking late during a fishing tournament no less, but if you are palning to go to Key West book early and try not to book by just looking at the picture the hotel provides they are deceiving. It is after all Key West but you hotel stay is part of your vacation too.
