“Not what we expected...”

My husband and I are Hyatt Vacation Club owners at the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Residences in Beaver Creek, CO. The level of services and amenities is quite high. As HVC owners, we expect that same level at the other resorts. Unfortunately, the Hyatt Sunset Harbor was an extreme disappointment.
We had booked a two-bedroom unit for a 3-night stay, as we were traveling with another couple. Our room was located on the first floor. It had two entryways, one which opened right into the master bedroom. Odd, we thought. The decor is very worn and dated. There were two coffee pots, but no coffee is supplied. No hand lotion. Correct me if I'm wrong, but even Hampton Inns and Howard Johnsons' supply coffee and hand lotion. This is a Hyatt property, for goodness sake. The master bath was gross. There was no whirlpool tub as had been stated on the website. As a matter of fact, there was not even a dining table and chairs, as was also pictured on the website. The location is excellent, but I would be hard-pressed to stay here again until a major renovation is done.

“Alright stay - stayed in better and nicer in Key West”

My husband and I stayed at Hyatt Sunset Harbor for 4 days concluding the end of our honeymoon week. The stay at this resort was a present from a family member who is a Hyatt vacation club member. The location is fabulous, the jetted tub in the room was nice, and the pool area is nice, but that is the only nice things I have to say.
The room was ok, bigger than a typical standard key west hotel room, but nothing spectacular. We stayed in a studio, I don't know how the 1 bedroom/2 bedroom units faired. The vanity area contained the jetted tub, that was nice, but the bathroom/shower area was nothing to be desired. It's almost like we had a handicapped shower - there was no tub, just a curtain - problem is - you shower and water goes EVERYWHERE in the bathroom. Since they don't do daily linen changes - you have to keep asking for new floor mats, towels... it was annoying.
The guide book in the room says to please leave your trash at the door and they wil come and collect it every 2 hours - my trash sat outside our door for almost 4 hours. I had to chase down a housekeeper and askher to take it.
Parking was decently priced and located next door in the Westin garage. Wireless Internet access was good, and roughly 10/day.
We really didn't use the kitchenette, but it came equipped with plates, utensils, etc.
I have stayed at Disney vacation club properties and they rock compaired to this. I expected more from the Hyatt - I expected excellence and not sub-par

“Quiet and relaxing hotel”

My husband and I stayed there on our honeymoon, and it was fantastic! We were quiet tired from a whirlwind week leading up to the wedding, and this was such a great place to relax. I loved the bathroom decor - so perfect for being on an island. We got a "studio" so basically a regular hotel room with just one queen bed, and the room wasn't super big, but it was big enough. I know they also offer 1 and 2 bedroom suites too. The pool area was great and the hotel is about 2 blocks from Duval street, where the action is, so very very convenient. Even though its so close, the hotel is really tucked back and is very peaceful. The only downside was the cruise ships that pull into port at 7:00 am and blow their horns. Theres a wakeup call for you!

“Great location and nice place to stay”

Hyatt Sunset Harbor Resort

This was a great place to stay. Right in the heart of Old towne Key West and Duvall Street and Mallory Square.

Just a block from shops, nightlife, the sunset celebrations. The rooms were spacious and had a nice citrus scent to them. Large jacuzzi tub and walk in shower and kitchenette in our studio room. The pool was nice and they had Barbeque grills that the resort will supply the charcoal for. Cruise ships do dock outside but was not bothersome as all. No beach for several blocks.

They do have several laundry facilities on-site and the ice machines always have plenty to go around.

Roosters were the only noise heard through the night.

This is a timeshare resort where the concierge try to talk with you but we were never hardly in our room so they were unable to talk with us. They left notes taped to our door and they left our message button blinking on our phone in the room but we did not fall for this. We found no problems with the concierge as we were out enjoying key west and would definately stay here again.

“Great location, view & pool area”

Used Hyatt Vac Club pts to book this resort for 3 nights-excellent choice! Can see why it's so tough to reserve. Unit 112--2bdrm very spacious/colorful (no 1 bdrm/studio available for our dates for just hubby & me) - would be plenty of room for 4-6 people, although it would've been better to have bathrooms/bdrms more similar in size -- master HUGE--2X the size of other. Liked that both king bdrms were on 2nd floor & unit had balconies on both floors. 1/2 bath on 1st fl would be make this unit work for 6 since couch is fold-out bed.
Female at front desk helpful/cheerful; room ready at 4PM (called @11AM from Cheeca Lodge in Islamorada & told rms never avail before 4PM--seems checkout should be noon vs 10AM).
1st floor had open kitchen design w/dining table for 4 ; we liked counter w/bar stools used for laptop (unfortunately their server not great--accessed internet but couldn't access work email--but did later at Hyatt Hotel that same wknd).
Nice touch to have coffee, dishwasher detergent, plenty of towels (used them all by 3rd night--just missed Wed cleaning--you can request more). More than ample dishes, glasses, utensils + full-size frig. Bed comfortable & A/C worked fine.
As w/all Hyatts--great landscaping around sparking pool w/plenty of chairs for size of resort & at front of property to provide privacy from paved public waterfront area. Unit appeared spotless relative to shower stall, toilets, floor, frig - but could use a 'deep' cleaning of corners of bathrooms/some tile areas.
Can't say enough about location--walk to everything: Sloppy Joes, Blue Heaven, A & B Lobster House (best meal but pricey), shopping, 2nd level bar at Westin to watch sunset, etc. Drove down to Bananas for wonderful breakfast & to look at other Hyatt Vac Clubs--other 2 look nice but at least 10 -min drive to Duvall St.
$30 for pkg for 3 nites not bad considering location +in/out privileges.
Overall, can't wait to go back w/hubby + would be great girls trip. Already tried for almost every wk in Jan-March. Not sure how anyone could complain about this secluded quiet resort w/in 2 blocks of Mallory Sq.
Only issue: booked a unit in Bldg 5 which has waterfront balconies w/best views--was put in #1 in back of resort--could still see ocean/cruise ships--but didn't know until checkin.
