Business serviceThe Crowne Plaza on Duval Street is in a great location if you are without a car in Key West Historic District. If you go right out the front door, you will find more upscale restaurants and art galleries and a quieter area, if you go left, you will find lots of bars, restraurants and more shopping ,but a little rowdier atmosphere.
The concierge at the hotel, Frank, is a long-time resident of Key West and is extremely helpful in booking any excursions or just getting information. All the locals seemed to know Frank.
I would definitely go back to Key West. It is fun, laid back, entertaining, beautiful weather and can be very educational.

ServiceMy husband is a Priority Club member so we use his points to visit Key West each year. This was our fourth visit to Key West and our third stay at the La Concha and it was the best stay yet! We were upgraded because of his Priority Club status to a room on the second floor with a balcony that overlooked Duval Street. This was the best room we've had and we'll be requesting it on our future visits! Each morning we sat outside and enjoyed the rising sun and people watching and each night we enjoyed coming home from a long day/night of eating, drinking, shopping, and sight-seeing and doing the same on the balcony. The only negative about this room was that the french doors weren't very sound proof and it was bike week so was extremely loud at all hours with the bikes reving their motors and drunk college kids on spring break. We just made sure we had enough to drink ourselves to fall asleep through the noise! The pool was nice - it's small but is very clean and has comfortable chairs to lie in and a nice pool bar with music. The water was cool and refreshing, which was nice since the weather was warm and a bit sticky. We flew into Ft. Lauderdale and drove the gorgeous drive down Rt. 1 so it's good for others to know that the La Concha has parking for its guests at $19.00/day (or $14.50/day if you're a PC member). We did have a few days when we took the car out where there were no more spaces, much because of motorcycles taking up a spot a piece, but a few minutes would go by and a space would open up. We didn't eat at the new Jack's restaurant but we did stop in for a drink before retreating to our room and the bartender was lacking personality to say the least. The drink menu was quite limited - we were looking for a nice nightcap martini or drink and resorted to glasses of Brut. Having a Starbucks right in the hotel is an added bonus as well for a good cup of java in the morning! We truly enjoyed our stay and ate at some fantastic restaurants, drank at some great bars, and visited some wonderful local shops and spent a whole bunch of money! The La Concha has been consistent in our 3 stays with the cleanliness of the rooms, the courtesy of the staff, and the fantastic location of the hotel. Although I'd like to try a small B&B during one of our future stays, La Concha will always be our hotel of choice each year in Key West!

Business serviceThis was my third stay at the Crowne Plaza La Concha and overall it it a great hotel. There are a few minor problems which I always seem to encounter but not major. The hotel is right on Duvual Street and everything is within a few blocks to walk to. The front desk staff is hit or miss. Being a Priority Club Member I have always had an upgrade. I knew the hotel was sold out but I didn't expect to have the room next to the ice machine. It was noisy so I did request a different room which was much nicer from a different staff member and was quickly accomodated. The rooms are clean, quality linens and very comfortable bed. The lighting is strange as there were lamps with no outlets to plug them in? I also feel that if the hotel gave coupons (which they use to) for discounts on their restaurant meals and drinks at the rooftop bar I would have tried Captn Jacks or the breakfast buffet. The rooftop bar is great for the sunset and is crowded but offers a nice view of the cruise ships also. I also take advantage of the smoking rooms which are almost nonexistent in Key West. I use my AAA for a discount but would never pay over $300 for a room even in high season. If you want a 3+ star hotel that is clean, safe and in the best location to see and do everything then this is it. I most likely will return and probably stay at the La Concha.
